Not sure how to do this but I will try to upload a picture of me in my new hat. I was thrilled to have it this weekend in NYC as the wind picked up and my piece blew up like an umbrella! Not only did it keep the thing down, my head stayed warm and dry in the cool misty weather.

So, Maya, since you were the creator of this group, what sort of hats do YOU like to wear?

Maybe this group should be called "Headwear Lovers"!

Shopping tips:

a) There are some awesome carves at www.zappos.com. Search for "scarf" and you will pages full. Be sure to sort by "low price" or else you will see the $600 ones instead of the $30.00 ones! Some are really beautiful.

B) A great place to get cool hats is at antique stores or vintage stores (where I do most of my shopping!) These days there are also some hip hats at stores like Anchor Blue, American Eagle, Holister, etc.

I love a good hat...especially in the rain.

Happy Holloween.

Okay, thanks for the invite and let me say up front, that I do happen to own quite a few baseball caps, fitted, of course. Most of them have the Nike Swoosh on them, but I also wear the standard Major League Baseball caps.

But I love women who wear hats! I think hats are sexy and classy when tastefully worn. Not to mention scarves and other wraps.

Thing is, I don't see any other guys here and you know what? That's fine with me! :-) I will be the fox in the hen house, if you'll accept the pun as is and not make it out to be some sort of sexist remark. I see a couple of familiar faces here and I'm sure they'll speak up for me...I hope. LOL

Anyway, I hope to see you guys around on the pages, maintain.

Galena, you can always buy fabric and make your own scarves; it's especially easy if you have access to a serger (yours or a friend's).
Stephanie, I also have a small head and head/hat size changes with the addition/subtraction (growing/falling out) of your hair. That's why I now sew in an adjustable elastic in the back of my hats. It's generally a 3"-4" long elastic sewn onto the hat at one end with the other having a hooky velcro end. The loopy velcro is sewn in a long strip (for adjustability) onto the hat. I can take a picture for you if you'd like, let me know because I have to get out my winter hats first.

Hey Hat Ladies!
Hope you guys are preparing for a fun weekend. I'm not crazy about wigs or hats, but if given a preference between the two it's hats hands down. I've never been a hat lover, so I'm open to finding styles that will flatter my face. I'm tall and I always thought that hats look strange on tall women. I usually go for large cotton gauze scarves that I can tie into a bun behind my head.
Does anyone know were I can find 72 inch long affordable cotton scarves? And of course any cool hat suggestions are most appreciated:-)

I never looked good in hats before but recently discovered it works with the way I've altered my appearance over the last 10 years or so. I started out with ball caps mostly but am starting to expand my collection of different types now. The ball caps work well without hair but I find if I'm not wearing my hair with it, I have to buy children's hats because my head is too small for adult hats. Selecting a children's hat that suits my maturity can be a little frustrating at times though since I'm not into High School Musical 3 or Barbie. I've checked out the hats in the boys section too and sometimes that work a little better but of course you're stuck with ball caps there. Berets for adults tend to work well but I don't care for them as they give me bad memories but I'm sure it would be cute if I did decide to get one. My cowboy hat is my favourite though and I hope to buy a few more of them.

I never wore hats before but now I really love them. Fortunately they are in style so there's lots to choose from but I have a very small head and it is difficult to find ones that really fit well.
