Anyone else have high cholesterol? I don't eat any meat, have fish now and again, don't eat chocolate, don't like cream, no butter either. Eat a little cheese and 6 tsp of plain yoghurt daily. Drink a couple of wines a week. Only eat egg whites. No…Continue

Interesting enough, I have also been diagnosed with rhematoid (excuse spelling) arthritis as well as kidney issues along with alopecia. Doctors have recently told me that these links classify me as having lupus. Pretty Crazy

Hey Monique great profile pic of you...Queen Liz 1?...sorry your dealing with another condition on top of hashimotos and AU.
I've just been diagnosed with bursitis...not an auto immune but seems to go along with polymyalgia rheumatica...just wish I got something that's not painful!

Just found out that on top of hashimoto's and AU, I am now prediabetic. Spooky. Have started working out more.

@Chentil I'm not sure Doctors know why this happens, but if you get any info lets us all know. I wonder why we have so many auto immune problems and some only have one.
@Minah welcome to the group and it sounds like you have more then your fair share of auto immune problems I hope you are doing OK!
@Aimee I have Crohns which is a form of IBS, but I take a drug called Asacol and I it takes care of the symptoms so I eat whatever I want.

Hello everyone! I am in the process of trying to figure out what is going along with my au and what auto immune disease is exacerbating it...what dr.s did you all see to have them finally diagnose you. I have seen a dermatologist and a rheumotologist and all they can tell me is I have AU i have not been told why this happened and why my other body systems are affected. i am thinking about seeing an internal MD. Do you think that is a good place to start?

I have AU and a weird form of arthritis that mimics Rheumatoid, but my blood work is negative for Rheumatoid Factors. It could be a mild form of lupus, but thus far, it's been tolerable. I had to cut back on some of the more demanding physical activities I enjoy, but have not had to cut them out completely yet. I also had terribly dry eyes and a diminished lipid layer, which is being reversed by punctal plugs and 6,000 mg of high-grade fish oil daily. I have had bouts of psoriasis, but not lately. I think the fish oils help a lot.

Thanks for the welcome Devin! Hi All :)

Hmm...I thought my dry eyes and squeaky joints were from Accutane, now I'm not so sure. I also have eczema now and then.

Recently I started to see major improvement - lots of hair growth - when I removed grains and potatoes from my diet and limited sugar. It's an anti-inflamatory / anti-yeast diet.

Didn't even know I had candida - the only definite symptom was oral thrush (and not as gross in the pics you might find if you google it lol!) I'm curious how many of us have candida? There seems to be a deep link between candida and autoimmune conditions in general!

Sorry if this strays away from the main purpose/topic of the group! Feels like I've stumbled upon something that could help all autoimmune conditions and am kinda excited! (When I looked into the yeast / autoimmune connection, it's apparently not a new observation... but new to me :))

Welcome Aimee and Tanya I can’t believe how many unusual autoimmune diseases there are. I've never heard of that one Aimee.

I have dry eyes too but I think mine is because of the alopecia. I have some eyelashes though, not that thick but enough to take away the lashless look. Next time I'm at the doctor I'm going to have him check it out as throughout the day it's like something is in my eye and it is irritating in the extreme.
