I have had AA for 19 years. I got it when i was 9, i am now 28.
parents play a huge role in this with your kids. I remember my mom crying WITH me. But she would always stop first. She would help me do my hair and try to cover it up as much as we could, even though it would take about an hour every morning. Letting her let me make the decisions about my treatments was the best thing. She took me to see doctors to learn with her, I've done it all. Creams, shampoos, needles. Finally, what was that all for? It never really goes away. You focus on a spot, and hope that the treatments work, sometimes they do, soemtimes they dont. A spot disappears, and a new one comes. You just have to support them no matter what they are feeling, but boost their self esteem. You have to be show your child that it is ok, not the end of the world. Beauty is inside, not out.
