I just recieved my wig last saturday, but up until now i haven't been able to get it to suction properly and just when i think i have it, the seal breaks if i chew something or raise my forehead almost any movement of my head. When i had it styled the lady almost pulled it off when she was blow drying it. I noticed it doesn't suction if it's wet in the cap that i can understand, but even when it's dried out underneath u can break the seal by lightly pulling the hair around the edge upwards. I'm fairly certain it is in the right place or very close to it. The cap doesn't seem to fit flush with my skin around the edges, especially the front which seems to flare upwards slightly. Does that mean it's in the wrong place .... I was just wondering if these things are normal or not. (i am going to carry on playing with it like representative here told me, we where only able to speak briefly but will speak to her again on monday but i couldn't wait till then)

Hi Aimee how frustrating..........I remember when Nicole got her first freedom I was nearly in tears trying to get it to fit! I would suggest going back to see your rep and get her to help you fit it. It can be tricky until you know how exactly to get it fitting..............the second one no probs as she new what to do.

Good luck I hope it is just a fitting problem and you get it sorted really soon so you can enjoy. =)
Cheers Sharon
Hi, sometimes this is frustrating. It helped me to put a squirt of water in the cap before I put it on, also I made sure it was 4 fingers from the eyebrow bone. Basically, if you put your four fingers pinky to pointer on your forehead the cap should sit right beneath your pointer finder. Also, are you making sure the tabs on the side are slightly rounded "C" prior to putting it on? It's a bit tricky at first - hope this helps.
A little water definitely helps. I just got mine last month and only wore it around the house for the 1st couple of weeks so I could get used to the fitting. Practice definitely makes perfect. While I do occasionally feel not as secure with some of the same things you mentioned (chewing, facial movement), the more I've had practiced putting it on, the securer I feel
Hi Aimee. I can relate to your issues. I too have had a tough time getting used to my Freedom. It sounds like everyone has a gap, especially at the temples. I'd really like to know from others if they too have a gap, because maybe I'm wrong on this one? I'm really curious about whether there is anyone out there who has gotten a silicone wig done using a mold instead of the laser. I got one wig done by Freedom and one done by another company using the mold method. I figured there was no real way to compare except to do two at once. I find that the mold one goes on my head very tightly. There is no wiggling around to find a fit, it goes where it's supposed to go and you could probably hang me from a sky scraper beam like those old crazy glue commericals and it wouldn't come off. But, it doesn't squeeze too tightly when I'm wearing it. With my Freedom wig I could wear it several different ways and get some suction even though it's not the ideal way. With my other silicone it only fits one way. It takes one attempt and its on. However, I have days when I go into the washroom and adjust my Freedom silicone a few times and still don't feel it's right. I never have to touch my molded silicone and it's tight on the temples, crown, everywhere. However, I prefer the hair quality and density of implant with my New Freedom wig. I also find that the molded silicone could be extended a little at the crown and temples - maybe that explains the more secure fit of it versus the Freedom?? I asked my rep for another scan so that I could customize the laser scan and put the temples and crown where I want it. She says I just need to get my old fit cap sent to me and tell them how I'd like it changed. I definitely think my Freedom is 'loose' compared to my molded silicone cap. Has anyone else had this experience?
Hi Aimee -
I'm feeling your frustration but truly feel the only way for you to get some "relief" is for you and your rep to get together and have her really work with you on the fit and placement. She should have no problem heading your direction and helping out - they are fabulous at that.
Mine too feels "not quite right" sometimes. I have days where it fits GREAT and days where I'm so dang frustrated I just want to cry. For the most part - after speaking with my rep and having her send me the instructions I was able to make sure it was on correctly more often then not. It's an amazing product and I KNOW it will work for you. When you met with her to get it fitted - did it not fit right? Were you able to feel it was secure at all during that time? If not - it might need to be readjusted by the company. Anyway, I'm sorry you are so frustrated and having a hard time - that sucks when you have paid so much money and really want to love it!
One tip - if it's too far forward there will be a gap at the top of your head or a good sized air pocket. The tabs next to the ears (as earlier mentioned) need to be turned inward a bit - gently. This helps.
Hello Aimee

The recommendation to contact your IA is great and something that should be done. I know Ursula would only be too happy to help with this issue as it really needs all hands on board. Don't worry this will be sorted. :)

As I was reading through this thread I noticed that some feel concerned that their hairpiece isn't sitting flush at the airtabs - Pat has said exactly the right things. The tabs have wire strips in them to enable you to manipulate them inwards slightly so that this part of your Freedom Vacuum hairpiece sits flush with your skin. The tabs are not used to hold your hairpiece on your head (that's what the vacuum does), so please don't do this too vigorously looking for a tight feeling.

Aimee - did you receive your DVD with your new hairpiece because this has some very good instructional material in it which may help. I know that with many of my lovely NZ ladies there can be a feeling of concern that the Freedom hairpiece doesn't feel tight, so I always get people to do a little check once they have their hairpiece on. The check is to pop your head upside down and see if your hairpiece moves. Once on right your hairpiece will stay put even though it doesnt feel tight - it just is part of you which now has to be trusted - easy for me to say I know, but I have watched my daughter over the years deal with this issue.

I'm sure that Ursula will contact you soon.
