Thank you Debbi!
Hi Tracy,
At least 3 of the US Freedom agents are in the same boat, me included! When you have a not flash, NOTHING will make you cool. You will sweat like a pig. Even when I am in bed with NO wig on and I get one of those, I have to kick off all the covers. The good news is that when you sweat into a regular wig, the wig will get WET and not dry out quickly. When you sweat in a Freedom you can go into a bathroom and take it off, wipe out the inside and put it back on with the hair looking cool, calm and collected! The sweat never penetrates to the hair so even if you are hot, you don't look it! This is about as good as it gets since people with their OWN hair will sweat and look like they just got out of the shower. One of the benefits of NOT having your own hair! LOL!!
I'm leaning towards getting a Freedom Wig. I have had AU for 2.5 years and have had 2 Follea wigs. First one looked the most natural but I ordered it when I still had some hair. The second fits better and doesn't irritate my scalp (as much)--Gripper style. My concern is the hot flashes which come on wherever, whenever. Any thoughts from women in their 50's who experience the flashes and own a freedom wig?
Thanks, Tracy
I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong section:)
Gemma, if your hair was that thick, then you can certainly ask for the thickest density Freedom makes. You just have to remember that the hair will begin to be thick right at the very edge of the cap and that it won't gradually thicken as you go further in as your own hair did. that is why we warn you go be careful not to go overboard on the density. The word 'light' when referring to a Freedom hairpiece actually means 'normal'. Age plays a role too. A child under 10 or 11 would normally get 'extra light' or it might look too full and unnatural. Most girls and women over 12 or 13 would want 'light' if they had achieved their adult head size. Some women who had more hair genetically might want Medium light or Medium which is our 'thick'. Don't be confused by the terminology.
Thanks Debbi and 'momoftwoboys', I really appreciate your feedback. I think I am just afraid that I make a mistake when I order. My hair was never thick - I always wished it was - however I realise now I didn't appreciate what lovely hair I did have when I had it!
Hi Robiek,
Light is considered 'normal' density. If you had hair that was considered thick, then you might want to order Medium Light but remember that with any prosthesis, the hair does not start out finer at the edge and then get progressively thicker as it does when it is your own growth hair. Less is more when you are wearing any type of hair "system" or 'wig' even a vacuum which is the most realistic type you can find. I would err on the side of caution unless you are SURE that you want a lot of hair and volume.
robiek- I have the light density and I think it is definitely thick enough. Mine is 10" though. I would talk to your rep for more information.
Hi there,
I am shortly about to order my first freedom wig. Can anyone offer any advice regarding the density? I have read in a few reviews that the 'light' is rather thin, is this the case? Thanks, Rx.
