Hi Erica if you have alook at my photos you can see Nicole's hair tied up and what the whispies look like. They are just bits of thin hair cut short to give the illusion of hair growing. If your Hair piece needs a repair it is an extensive process as it involves seperating the cap from the base and replanting the hair then resealing..............gosh Narns could probably give you the technical details. But it comes back looking like a new piece but will probably not feel the same as it did before =) Hope that helps =)

Cheers Sharon

What are whispies?? and for my wig... if in a few years i need to get a repair, how is that done? is it really expensive?

The only thing that looks like a real hairline IS real hairline....you will need "whispies" cut into a Freedom piece.

Could someone show me a picture of their hairline with a freedom wig... like on the forehead.. do i have to leave bangs down in the front if i am going to put it in a ponytail, or make a bump in the front? or does the hairline look real as well?

Bridget I will certainly let you know how it turns out...Funny thing is before I found my first bald spot I hat short dark hair. It was chocolate brown with blonde and red streaks through. It was so funky... All the wigs I looked through the browns just didn't do it for me. The one I have been wearing for three years is called Snap by Paula Young. The color is called Honey. It is darker at the base and then highlighted through the top. At the darkest it is a caramel blonde but when you look at me you see blonde. I wanted to get darker again so Debbie and I chose a blend of two browns for the wig. I always was going to put some caramel through. I don't know why I think it will be too dark. I never had issues with going really dark when I had real hair. For some reason I just think I want to lighten it up. I am not too worried about carmel highlights through it. Again I don't care it looks a bit red after awhile. I can do any kind of red as as a kid I was a strawberry blonde..... Guess we will see in a few weeks!

I have done as much work as I can but there are no guarantees. Keeping my fingers crossed. I just want some carmel high lights put in to lighten up the dark brown. I have been blonde now for 3 years so going that dark is too drastic for me. If it goes red well that is ok because I look good with red being freckled with hazel eyes.

I think I maybe Freedom Wigs biggest fans.......We are so very fortunate to live in NZ and have the best Rep they have. Most places around the world have an independent consultant. It's hard to put into words how our experiences have been, all positive that's for sure! As our reps daughter is living with Alopecia too, and as a mother she has a great knowledge of how both my daughter and I are feeling. Also I have meet some of the staff and watched the process of how the wigs are made - if only everyone could see the truly amazing the job they do - this includes governments so they can increase the subsidy you can recieve - well here in NZ there are govt subs, not very much tho!
