I have seen a few websites, which one is the main one for freedom wigs
Sure can =) Have you checked out their web page? It has all the "do's and don'ts" on there. The big thing with Freedom pieces is mechanical damage, this is caused from prolonged rubbing/pushing on one area of the hair. It causes the hair to break off and you have a bald spot on your wig. My daughter has this one her first one as her head was still growing and she was pushing down on it to keep the vacuum. But now fingers crossed she has stopped growing and she will no longer feel the need to do that!
Can you shower with it if you want to? like say if i am with someone and i don't want them to know i have it on, I can do everything normal with it, and if the person doesn't know and i dont want them to know, i can keep it on for normal things... like is there anything that i shouldnt do with it?
The only down side for my daughter is the need to shave her head. She is in the process of wig number 2 as she recently lost most of her hair for the second time =( So at the moment she has less hair which means less of an effort going into shaving = less time in the bathroom!! I know 14 year old girls are meant to stay in there, but with the extra job to do in the morning seem like forever =) It will not be tight as it is made to fit snug, not tight to you head. My daughter never complained of headaches from her piece being tight and she was 10 when she had her first one. It's certainly not itchy, I would think a synthetic wig would be more irritating than a Freedom piece. The cap is made out of silicone so it is smooth and comfortable - words from my girl there =) I wash her hair once a week, but when she has been swimming it is advised you rinse it as soon as possible, then when you can, give it a wash. So in summer I do tend to wash it every day. It is alot of money, but well worth every cent.
What kind of problems should i prepare myself for? there is a lot of pros but what are the cons? a lot of up keep and cleaning? is it tight? would it give me headaches til i am used to it? hot? itchy ?
Hi Lori how exciting for you I know our daughter luvs her freedom pieces she wears hers in ponytails alot. Just wanted to let you know that the first piece we got her she had highlights put in and I wouldn't let her do it again as after a few summers and more highlights it really started to go a reddy colour. She ended up being called ginga..............so with her new one we have just kept it as close to the original colour and I said she could get low lights if anything. Good luck with it all and enjoy your weekend away I'm sure you won't regret spending the money to get one of these pieces we certainly haven't.
Regards Sharon =)
I have a date for when I am getting my piece which is December 5.... Gosh I am so nervous. I actually am driving down to New Hampshire and meeting Debbie Fuller. There is a salon there where I will get the hairpiece cut and highlighted.... I did not want to take a chance of having someone up here (Ottawa Canada) who knows nothing about these pieces mess it up. This hairstylist is supposed to be really good at razor cuts so my husband and I are going to go on a little trip. Bonus the daughter stays with the grandparents! Yeah week-end away with my husband too! I am terrified I am going to hate this thing.....$3000 is a hell of a lot of money..... I am hoping it won't be too hot as well.
I really hope that what I have picked works out ok. This isn't going to be long hair. It is going to be a cut hopefully similar to a Lisa Rinna cut. Long hair looks awful on me what can I say.. Wish me luck!!!!!
Hello I am from the east coast of canada, and i just heard about this product, is it true that you can swim in it, put it in a ponytail all that? It's what I miss the most is wearing my hair back in a ponytail, It is a lot of money for someone my age so i want to make sure that I am going to get what I am looking for out of it... any help?
