Just ordered my Freedom Wig. So excited!!!! Ginny my rep is a wonderful person. Gave me tons of info and it was so nice to be next to someone that has alopecia. She is the first person I meet that can relate to my baldness.

Hi Zeida, I agree that it can be hot in the south - not just FL, but when you spend so much time in air-conditioning it won't be too much of an issue.  There is also the option of wearing a different type of wig if you plan to be really active when it is very hot out.  On the boat I think you'd be fine because there is a nice breeze and you can wear your hair UP.  I live up north but when I've traveled to FL I'm usually cold because they keep the air-conditioning on so cold!  Freedom has MANY customers all over the south including FL.  Each person is different, but even if you have days when you don't want to wear it, the majority of the time you'll find that it's actually more comfortable than a regular wig.  It doesn't itch and you can take it off anytime and put it under cold water or just wipe your head with a cold towel and you're back in business.  With regular wigs, None is right that the tape won't stick and the hair gets all wet with sweat.  Your Freedom will never look like that - the hair will be beautiful even if it's hot out.

None, I do get hot in my regular wigs and that is the one thing that scares me about the Freedom Wig. That being said I spend most of my time in the air conditioning at work. We go on the boat and I wear my wig and a hat and just deal with it. The reason I am willing to invest on the Freedom Wig is that I will be able to wear it without the hat and put it up in a ponytail not to mention I can swim with it. Zeida, I am responding re your living in Florida and wanting a Freedom Wig.  I have told my husband that we will never retire to a place with weather like Florida because I can't give up my Freedom Wig!  I cannot imaging wearing  a freedom in Florida except in heavily air conditioned locations. Personally, once the temperature hits 70 degrees, I can feel the sweat dripping inside of the wig.  I have worn the Freedom in a swimming pool during the summer (dunking my head a lot), so that is a bonus, but the sun beating down on the wig really feels like you can steam some rice inside of it!  No doubt, Freedom is the best piece I have ever owned in terms of overall comfort, fit , hair quality and durability (dealing with alopecia for the 30 years now and have tried every hair piece known!), but I'd love to see some innovations from them in terms of the heat of that cap.   So if you are not a "sweater" and the heat never bothers you, I'd say go for it just knowing that certainly when you are in 90 degrees plus, you will likely need to wear something else.  Will also say that tape also does not stay on during intense heat.  Good luck with your decision.

I have been doing research on best wigs and I think I'm going to go with the Freedom Wig. It scares me because of the investment. Your comments on this site are helping me so much. I live in Florida 90 degrees most of the year, I'm hoping I don't get too hot with it on and end up hating the wig. Any thoughts? I have already spoken with the rep in my area. I'm waiting for her to give me an appointment. She lives in Atlanta so it might be a while. Does anyone know of a representative that lives closer? Thank you

Hi Reesepieces, worse case, you can have the bangs removed and replaced - but it is going to be very expensive - the cost of a full repair.  As to the density - it's very hard for them to make each one exactly the same as another one.  They don't have the first one there to copy and it is very subjective.  However, if you take it to your stylist and ask them to remove hair in tiny little snips right at the base (do not do this near the part - you'll see little tiny hairs sticking up), it can be thinned.  If you want more info on what to tell the stylist, you can call me or email me directly from my website - www.fuller-hair.com  Also, your rep may have some good ideas if you want to call her.

This may be a crazy question, I just got bangs on my new freedom, my old one didn't have them. AND I hate them. Am I basically now screwed?? Also, I wrote another post, the hair is SOOOOO thick. I can't wear the wig because it looks like I have a mop on my head even though I got it cut already.... Seems twice as thick as my old one.  Feel very frustrated though it's probably my fault for the bangs but any help on making it look thinner would deb great, my freedom rep is in Michigan and I am in Cali.

Leigh Ann, I realize you posted this over a year ago, but I don't get on Alopecia World very often.  I wear a Freedom Wig, and live in Durham!  My Freedom Wig was life changing!  I'll be ordering my third wig shortly.  Love love love my Freedom!
