Went to hear the lovely and gracious Susan L. Taylor speak tonight.
While waiting during the meet and greet to speak with her following her presentation, she reached out to me and told me how beautiful I was--Wow :D
There's actually more to the story of her even being here, but I'll share that from one of my blogs. (:

Thanks Brenda. (:
Your comment about your piercing is interesting, because I think people would probably be more shocked to see me with the septum piercing than the shave! :D A few people are still shocked with my tattoos (one over my left breast and one on my ankle :)

I think it still boils down to what WE are most comfortable with, which is a process and exudes outward. I'm just now wearing tops low cut enough for my tattoo to be seen, without constantly pulling it up--in casual settings.

Ms. E, I have a guy friend who is bald and he told me not to buy the no bump treatment. If you shave, sometimes you may get the hair bumps. He said just put a hot towel (as hot as you can stand) on your head before your shave and after you shave and use some alcohol. It actually works, I use the razor once and ended up with razor bumps and this treatment worked. I will never use a razor again.

Oh, another one of my godsons (who also wears his head shaven) called me today. He said when he got the e-mail he said "whoa...that looks like a darker me":D He also said he thinks it's a good look, and just wants me to feel good.

He talked about the changes he went through shaving off his "pretty boy" hair following surgery for an aneurysm. He'd not shared that with me before.

He'll be moving back to California in a couple of months and said he'd maintain it for me. Also told me to get some "No Bump" skin treatment. Anyone ever heard of that?

Actually, my bald spot would become tender before it was even bald. When I was a child I use to tell my mother and she'd say "your head probably just never closed up" :D

It's tender right now which makes me a little hesitant to use a razor on it. I just went to two more stores looking for the 5-Star electric shaver, and they didn't have it. I guess I'll go back to the store where I first saw it and decided to do price comparisons before purchasing it.

So...a credit card huh??? Maybe I'll try that tonight.
I was wondering what they could've been talking about when they said "smooth plastic". The only thing I could think of was a plastic knife which I wasn't sure would be a good thing since it's serrated and the other side is dull.

Jackie, I think it might be the Magic Shave, usually right after I shave my head is very tender. I need to look into finding something else to use.

Hi Jackie, thanks for your comment. I wasn't sure what was going on, at first I thought maybe hair was trying to grow and that's why it is tender, but no hair and it's been tender for a few months now.

Hi Ms. E, I have not shaved since last week too. I just wanted to see what it would look like. As long as I do not hold my head down, it's all good. I have two big nice bald spots present with a little fuzz. I too use the Magic Shave Creme, but I remove it using a scraper and I find that it works better than using a towel. If you don't have a scraper a hard card (that resembles a credit card) works as well.

Oh does anyone else have tender spots in the bald area? Where my hair has fallen out, those spots are very tender to the touch. Just wondering.

I thought I'd posted this as a blog Monday, but turns out it was in another group, which there seems to have been no activity this week. So I'll post it here.

Am feeling kinda "bluesy" this morning.
Hadn't "touched up" my shave since I got it last week, so I decided to do the Magic Shave Creme and it removed very little of the stubble.
So now my scalp is looking "alien-like" and I'm thinking the upkeep for this is going to be more work than I'd expected.

I don't even want to deal with the gels, razors, etc. so I am now looking for an electric razor which will give me the closest shave. Have read some good stuff about upkeep on Linda's page.

I was also looking forward to sitting out on my balcony to get a little sun on my scalp while doing some paperwork but so far it's only 59 degrees--In JULY!

Oh well--headsup! : )
