- My name's Hannah and I recently moved to Chicago to pursue my Masters degree. In May 2018, I received my major in exercise science and two minors in nutrition and public health at Westminster College. I was also a 4-year starter for the varsity volleyball team.
Here's a synopsis of my Alopecia story: I've had AA a few times, brought on by what we thought was stress (like moving). The summer before my Freshman year of high school I started losing my hair. I wore a hat to school and by the end of my first semester I had no hair on my head and most of the hair on my body was gone.

You know, if you go to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation web site (www.naaf.org), you can ask them to send you a free "school pack" which includes a video you can play for the teachers and student body. It will educate everyone about your alopecia which is a GOOD thing!
