Should i get a freedom wig?

Posted on March 11, 2009 at 10:11pm 5 Comments

Hi, im 14 years old and I have lost about half of my hair so far. Its still falling out in some areas, but i have some regrowth. Its not alot, but there is some. Every morning i put my hair up is a clip with some bobby pins and hairspray to hide my large bald area, but I hate being so concious about my hair all the time. I cant run without revealing it during gym. I just wanted some opinions if i should get a freedom wig or if i should just wait and see if the spot that is regrowing gets… Continue

They don't irritate me at all. I usually don't even notice that they are there. I don't see any reason they would irrtate your skin unless your skin did not agree with the adhesive. To glue them on I use the eyebrow adhesive that headcovers unlimited sells.

No problem! Let me know how the lashes work out for you, and if you decide to try out the eyebrows! I know target sells the Ardell lashes, and you can probably find them at any drug store as well. I have only used the eyebrows for about a month, but even if someone is an inch from my face, they would never know they're not real.

I like both brands, but to be honest between the $3.50 Ardell and $30 mylash the difference is not really one I can tell, and the hold of the lashes depends totally on the adhesive I use. The mylash last a bit longer, but I probably like the Ardell a little better- they are a little fuller and so look more natural on someone with no lashes at all. The glue I use is DUO brand.

Hope this helps! If you don't have eyebrows, I can't reccomend the fake eyebrows from Headcovers Unlimited enough (the ones that are like little mini-wigs that you glue on). They look really great and are def worth $40.

I think that it is definitely the best option when you are going to be doing sport and running around. I have been wearing a freedom wig since i was 9 so dont notice the heat anymore. I think that they get a little bit hot but not enough to warrant feeling un secure in a non vacuum wig when playing. I hope that helps.

Pretty cooI stuff eh? Hair in a can!!! I can understand your reluctance to putting anything on your head for fear it will cause things to get worse. But really it wont hurt you. It's just keriten fibers and hairspray.
Let me know how it goes and what you decide.

Jeffrey
