My alopecia story in a bit more detail

So my story starts way back in 1994, well 1995 really but some incident/situation in 1994 might have contributed to my acquiring AU. In case you don’t know, AU stands for Alopecia Universalis. It is the most severe and rarest of the main forms of Alopecia.

Hormonal cream and compliments

Hello,

Today I went to the docter and she told me that in my case my hair probably will never grow back.

But to give me the feeling that i tried everything she gave me hormonal cream.

Im just gonna try it and I really hope it will work for me.

Question for today is:

Three ladies, three different experiences with baldness

Yesterday I met and spoke to two women.



The first was a bald black woman in the library and when I asked if she had alopecia she responded that, no, she just liked the look. Thirteen years ago she shaved her head and continued to do so to this day. We spoke for a bit and exchanged shaving tips and our thoughts on living our lives as bald women.

I Love Being Bald!

Okay, so it's only day 3 and I'm still floating on the pink cloud of empowerment. But I had fun in the shower today shaving my stubble instead of bemoaning the loss of hair. (I bought a Headshave and am slowly getting the hang of it.) Last night I went to my writer's group meeting and "flipped my wig" for them.
