as the pictures on my last post show...it is impossible to hide my spots. I have been wearing scarves and hats for the past two weeks. actually one hat, because up until yesterday, i only had one. it was a little difficult to plan everything i wore around one hat, especially when i need to do laundry :D. Anyway, I like the I can wear hats and scarves, but it just isn't practical for every single day at my job. So, I spent yesterday wig shopping. I found one that is exactly like my hair was, or is, or should be (i'm not really sure what to call it)...i'm excited about it. when it comes, i'll take pictures for you, but for now...this is what it looks like (on someone else)

How come no one ever told me how fun wig shopping is? I was afraid of losing my femininity without hair...but HAVE YOU SEEN HOW MANY GIRLIE WIGS THERE ARE OUT THERE...HOLY COW! I figured I should start with how my hair was, so that I don't shock everyone (including myself) but...i have found a hairstyle for every personality that I can come up with. There's the short and sassy hair, the long rockstar hair, my superhero hair, my wild child hair, my curly girlie hair... O my gosh, I can't wait to get new wigs for every emotion. Does it make me a creep that I check out the hair on every girl I see to see if I want it. HA! I'll make sure to take pictures of each of my new hair personalities for you guys. My sister thinks that I should dedicate one day a week to celebrity hair. You know, one week have Cher hair, one week have Gene Wilder from Young Frankenstein, one week Elvis...you get the idea. HA!

But seriously, I've never worn a wig before. Do I need one of those head covers for underneath it? Should I shave what is left of my hair, or leave it for 'padding'? Is it going to blow off if it's really windy? What happens if I get caught in a rain storm? I have lots of stupid questions, but I really have no idea how to do this. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated..so I don't go out of my house with my wig on backwards!

HI there,
I don't know if I would shave the left side, what if you go into remission and then your hair goes back (even though it may take a while)? Unless you were told that you have AT for sure, I think I would try to salvage what you have left and maybe it will grow back. I have heard that if you wear a stocking cap under the wig that is better to keep it from looking lumpy all around your head. Look on youtube and wig websites, there are videos you can watch on how to put on a wig and take one off, I've seen them myself. Anyhow, good luck and hope your experience is a positive one.
PS also, I have heard on women wearing a scarf around the wig on windy or rainy days to help them too. Take an umbrella always too!

I totally agree with Bogie and Angela, I think they have a lot of knowledge to share. It is a personal preference! Blessings!
