Reading all these posts about the upcoming conference have reminded me so much of my awesome adventure to the USA to go the conference in Oakland in I think 2000.
I was so lucky to part of a site at the time called AlopeciaKids.org (which I don't think is going any more) - the owners of the site put together some money to pay for my Conference expenses and gave the awesome opportunity to go - I don't think I will ever be able to thank them enough for it.

Going meant the world to me. I was 16 at the time and met some awesome people - and saw the most people I have ever seen with Alopecia all together in one place. At the conference concert I even read a poem out that I had written about Alopecia, and then had a great time dancing with all the other kids (one of which I had an ever so slight crush on)

I was even lucky enough to meet Staciana Stitts - who just happened to have the same dragon necklace I was wearing at the time - I can remember how much that excited me!

Man it was great. All the memories. Swear I'll make it over again in the years to come.

I'm dead jealous of everyone going this year- but take it from me - you will have the greatest time ever!!!
