Now everyone that I work with knows that I wear wigs. It feels great! It is good to know that everyone knows about it. We only have 7 people in the office so its not like I work with a big group of people. And there is only one guy in the office. I went to lunch today with the one coworker who I had not told yet. We had gone to happy hour together a few times and had lunch a few times so I decided it was time to talk to her about it. She said she had no idea that I wore wigs. That felt good! I told her my story. She said she could not imagine how difficult it had to have been for me. She asked a few questions about it. It felt nice to talk to someone else and inform another person about Alopecia. Spreading awareness one person at a time. :) I am so glad that I can talk about it now and tears aren't falling down my face.

Congrats my coworkers in my little work area at the hospital knows also and i am very open about it if someone asks. Its nice to not keep it a secret because its nothing to be ashamed of. It also gives you a sense of control over it also. I think hairloss should be something more openly talked about like they do obesity because even though its not life threatening it is real and more common then people think. anyway glad all is well and talk to you soon :o)

Learn To Love Yourself
Dealing with Alopecia as you know is no easy task. It effects absolutely everything. You eat, sleep, breath alopecia. it can really get you down. But my solution is to learn to love yourself again. Think of all the good things about yourself. All the nice things that your family and friends say about you and take comfort from that.Learning to deal with Alopecia is like learning to deal with a difficult friend.

Tiffany... I agree... I don't want to keep it a secret. Especially since I see these people 5 days a week. It should be more openly talked about for sure. I'm glad I am finally at a place where I can talk about it openly. Have a good day!
