My best friend's sister is a Manager of a hair salon. I went there the other day so that she could trim the bangs on a new wig that I ordered online. Thank goodness it was empty that day. It got me thinking how I miss going to a hair salon. I didn't go that often when I had hair, but when I did go, it was a treat. First, where I went, they gave you a mimosa or a glass of wine... what girl wouldn't like that. Lol. I loved when they would wash your hair and give you a little scalp massage. It always felt nice. Then the fun of looking through magazines to find a new haircut. Then the excitement of how it will turn out. It always felt good to have freshly cut hair. On the positive side, no more bad haircuts! No more roots showing. No more having to get a trim to keep a hair cut. No more hair spray or mousse or gel. No more blow dryers or curling irons or straighteners. I actually gave my Chi away not too long ago so that is one less thing taking up space in my bathroom. Lol. Now I can get ready much quicker! And save $ not having to buy all those things! I look back at going to hair salons with fond memories, not with sadness. Now I can have styles and colors that I never would have tried before!

Your right no more bad hair cuts, color gone wrong, or waiting for your hair to get long enough. you go to a wig store and have fun and then it stays looking great because you dont mess it up when you go to sleep. You can go from professional bob in the day to long haired vixen at night or just be a bald and edgy cool chick. silver lining with every cloud :o) my mom is a hairdresser with her own salon so never had to worry about costs but i remember the excitement. Yes fond memories.

Exactly! I love being able to be a brunette at work, then go home and be blonde! :) Yes, that is another thing.. no more waiting for your hair to grow. I forgot something else... no more turning your hair purple on accident! Lol.

I get that salon experience at a fancy wig shop with cookies, and at a regular salon when I go to color my white alopecia sideburns to match my Wig of the Month! Magazines included! Also...manicure and pedicure salons provide the conversations.
