First day with a wig.... time to shave

Yesterday was my first day with a wig, it was extremly uncomfortable. A really pretty front lace synthetic shoulder length dark brown. I guy at work said "someone whent to the hairdresser, Nice!". I should mention that last week I had a really short light brown haircut. So they don't seem to care or notice.

However pretty I looked I felt horrible, uncomfortable and just wanted to flush the wig down the toilet. But i couldn't because underneath was my horrible patchy unflattering haircut. I felt imprisoned by my hair. I coudn't have my friends over unless I covered my head. I didn't feel comfortable with my live-in partner (? dunno what you guys call it in english but me and my boyfriend live together). So he, as the wonderful guy he is, helped me with the clipper and then with the shave. He has more experience with that than I do, I might have been hairy before but not that hairy.

It felt weird not having hair, feeling the cold on my head, and the stubble. But when I woke up this morning and put my eyebrows on i felt good, in control like myself! A feeling I have missed for the past months.

Now I can choose what to wear on my head or if to wear anything. I don't feel forced. This is nice.

Wearing a wig takes some getting used to for sure....like you I felt better once I'd shaved off the rest of my hair. I still wear a wig but that's my choice, and they feel so much better without my own bits and pieces of hair underneath. Your partner sounds like a lovely caring guy and that's wonderful.

That is wonderful! It is nice being able to have the choice. It does feel weird not having any hair, but you start to like it, and get used to it. I like when my head is freshly shaved. If it is hot outside, it feels so good when the wind hits it. That is great that your boyfriend helped you. That can be very scary. As for the wigs... you get used to it. The more you wear it, the more you forget that it is there.
