I'm getting gray like white hair all over my head

I always had brown hair but I always wished I was a red head. I colored it bright red. A year ago i shaved what little hair I had left. The patches got smaller and smaller and it quit growing. The last couple of months my hair has been growing back very slowly I am getting more and more. Its really sparse and has no color to any of it. Any color hair would be so great. I will take gray hair over no hair any day.

I have have greyish, whitish peach fuzz too! It is as fine as baby hair so fine I don't even have to shave it very often. It only grows on the very top and sides of my head. Maybe I will be a platinum blonde next go around! After rocking a bald head we can can rock anything!

Ever since losing my hair 4 years ago, my scalp has been covered with those white/colorless hairs. Sometimes they thicken and darken in patches, but for the most part they just stay white and thin. I do have to shave my head as it sort of takes on a mad scientist appearance. I have also had them grow on my eyebrows which helps as I can use tinted brow gel to color them.

Are we talking about vellus hair? Short, colorless and pretty much invisible until you look very closely. My head is covered with it. I shaved it all off and it grew back. Same color, same length. It never gets long. From my research, it's either the beginning or the end of the life of a hair follicle. Miniaturized follicles that is. I REALLY need to stick to the Rogain plan as i've heard that Rogain helps revitalize those follicles and turn vellus hair back to terminal (normal) hair.

Yes, my hear is growing back white, but I am happy regardless of color. I dye my white hairs light brown like the rest of my hair and the color takes and holds.....which leaves me to believe the white hair follicule has cuticle but no melamin.

any patches of regrowth for me start transparent/white too and then like someone said if they're strong enough and get to like 1/4 inch they'll go back to brown i've asked my doctor what it means and she didn't have an answer but then again no one really has any answers about alopecia....

I've regrown 95% (give or take a few) of the hair on my head, it all started with those little white hairs. Seems after while they turn into regular hairs, as I have some that are half white and half brown on the bottom end.

I donno if you're trying to regrow your hair but if you are I highly recommend Rogaine, and 5000-10,000 mg Biotin pills everyday.

They are the stronger hairs that we do not notice regularly as they are mixed in with our regular hair. When alopecia takes away the normal hair, this is what is left. I had AU and AT, now reverse ophiasis pattern...all white. I used to be a brunette.

After the steroid shots my hair will start growing back white. But then it turns to my natural hair color.

I usually have these white wispy hairs that arent really substantial. They never grow long or fill in. I dont know why! For years I was very smooth, but now I have had these for a few years?
