Nothing...nothing but compliments!

Okay, Ye Doubters! In the last two weeks I got the last of my white AT fuzzy hair shaved off, wore it like that in public places and among friends, took personal photos like that, and went out with no wig under my hat. I even took the hat off at my doctor appointment today. Responses? Nothing in public, compliments from friends, doctor (new) asked if I had had cancer (he didn't look at my file), and a strange lady complimented me on the hat...which was decades old, faded, and had crazy colored flowers on it. Huh. All that worry for...NOTHING!!!! : )

Yeah...in my case, I had to pay for the records and hand-deliver them between different towns, too!

:) I tend to worry for nothing too, all the time! Doesn't it feel better having it shaved off! I like shaving my head now. But I have to shave too often for my liking, my hair grows too fast.

What I tell you, Tall Girl? If YOU feel good with yourself, the rest will follow. Welcome to the positivity and power of our heads. We can only be who we are. That's not to say you won't rock a funky wig every now and again, but you can feel safe and self assured in who you are, with AT and everything. You'll see, things will begin to open, interviews, a job, everything! Yay!

Yes! I remember a speaker at a NAAF conference that stuck out to me many years ago. He said he worried all summer long about a college event since he lost his hair over the summer and really wanted to miss it all together. But like a good friend, his friend convinced him to go. He walked in, knowing full well that he looked completely different and one friend said, "Hey, your bald", he replied and then his friend said "want a beer". He recalled that he spent all that time worrying for a situation that lasted less than 5 minutes and then it was over. Going out without our hair can be rather uneventful. At one time I think I really attracted attention, now occasionally I get a comment. But hardly anything anymore.

Eulalia, I will still be wearing a wig most of the time. This is my vacation and casual experiment!

Tallgirl I just messaged you how beautiful you look - wig or without wig - to me, especially without a wig. Handle this the best way you can if it SERVES you. Know that you can go bald and still be beautiful EVEN more beautiful. If you feel it from the inside out, it comes through and life is good. I speak from experience. Like you profile page and the wonderful Monkees said "Take A Giant Step....."
