Well it is now just over a month ago that I shaved my head for my second bout of Alopecia. How time flies!!!!!!
What I have noticed this time around is that my patches are much less visible as it seems that my hair falling out was much more a case of thinning rather than just large patches. There are a couple of large patches but in the main the bulk of the hair that fell out was very definitely a thinning of my hair whereas the first time I shaved my head there was a lot of big patches.
I’ve got used to my baldness again and apart from the cold I’m enjoying the image again. The great thing about it this time is that it is all familiar territory and there is nothing new to it. The first time I took a while to get into the swing of shaving my head but it’s a bit like riding a bicycle and this time I found that my technique had not deserted me. Now every morning I have the pleasure of shaving my head which is quite a nice thing to do really. I have also had a couple of trips to the barbers for a full head and face shave which is a very nice treat to have.
Something that is slightly different and it may be my imagination but I think that hair is falling out in other areas. I have always been a very hairy person with body hair all over my legs, torso, arms and shoulders. The first time I shaved my head I noticed that there was no longer any hair left in the shower after I had showered. This time there are still quite a lot of hairs left in the shower and I have noticed several bald patches on other parts of my body. My eyebrows also seem to be slightly thinner. It may be the start of something new or it may just be related to the fact that I have had a skin problem lately that has resulted in me feeling itchy all over. The bald patches on my body may be just where I have scratched but then again it could be the start of something new.
Whatever it is, time will tell.
