Hey everyone I'm wondering whether anyone who has dark hair and AA has had to shave their hair completely bald? Is it impossible to get rid of the patches of hair that are left? Im asking as i know at some stage in the future i will have to shave my head bald as im going bald naturally anyway. Has anypne ever tried hair removal cream? OR is it possible to shave it all off?

Mine was dark and got so thin that I shaved it - I had to shave a few patches for about a month after that but eventually it just quit qrowing in and there are no patches now .... honestly though I felt better after I shaved it - luckily I have a pretty ok head. My gramma shaved it for me and even she said it looked better! good luck whatever you decide.

I have AU and a few small patches are starting to grow back. I just shave the spots every day with a good quality (mens) razor. I don't worry about the "shadows" on my scalp. I am tall so not many people have a direct view of the top of my head :))) I would avoid hair removal creams. They would most likely cause alot of irritation to your scalp and potentially damage the hair follical for good.

I would avoid hair removal creams as well. Shaving is great! I shave my head a few times a week while I'm taking a bath. If you want to try it, then I would suggest it. I love the feeling of a shaved head. I use the "HeadBlade". You can purchase it online or at Walgreens. It was designed for men who shave their head. Use a shaving cream with it. I like the Nivea men's sensitive shave gel. It smells nice too (even though I'm a woman, lol). You will have some shadow areas where you have hair, but try to not let that bother you. The closer shave that you get, the less the shadows will show up.

I agree with not using hair removal cremes etc...Your hair can always grow back!
