How many people had experience with mononucleosis (glandular fever, the kissing disease, mono), or some other immune compromising illness before developing Alopecia?

I had mono almost exactly one year before I developed Alopecia, so this has particularly spiked my interest.
PLEASE RESPOND! It could help.

hmmm...I've had mono twice. You are 'supposed' to only get it once. You can relapse in the first year, but that doesn't count. I had mono when I was in 6th grade and then again when I was 19. I developed alopecia a few months ago (24 years old). I have all sorts of other immune conditions though....asthma, eczema, allergies, hypothyroidism. i have no idea if mono was a contributing factor...but my immune system in general seems to be a bit out of whack. interesting idea though :)

Nope!! I've never had it!! So, Mono is about the only damn thing I can't contribute to this :P

Never had it!! I am almost 100% positive that my Alopecia was triggered by trauma. I hit my head on the bottom of the pool (long story. lol) and made my own nice bald spot on the top of my head and weeks later found that my eyebrow was way shorter than I had plucked them. My mother kept saying I was overplucking and then even weeks after that found a couple bald spots.

Thanks for commenting on my mono discussion. I think it is interesting to learn more about people and health issues/symptoms that we share. This may lead us to know more about why people may develop alopecia and if we share this information with each other, we might be on to something!! I thought that was what these message boards are for :). Its unfortunate that other people on the boards are so negative about trying to discover more out about alopecia and look down upon us because we want to learn more about each other!
