So...is it all starting over again..!!!

Well, it seems that my hair is starting to come out again, I'm noticing the same pattern as last time and got really excited when all the patches started growing back and the overall thinning growing back, I still have new re-growth all over and honestly not sure if Im over reacting, all i can hope is Iam.
But i cant hide the feeling that its starting...again.....

Hi Aimee, the larger the patch the longer it took to grow back, I noticed that some parts of my hair grew back quicker than other parts. It took all up 4-5 months for it to start to grow back and each day Im surprised at how much new regrowth I have, it makes me realise how much hair i actually lost.
Im hoping Im over reacting on more starting to come out.....

Hi Bel,

I don’t know which is my bigger fear – that it won’t grow back, or that it will grow back only to come out again. The unknowing is dreadful! I got my first 3 patches May 28, 2009. Saw the dermatologist the next day and started treatment. I have about 10 patches – the largest ones in the back of my head are regrowing, and they seem to grow in from the bottom up. The one on my crown is covering all over, though sparsely. Unfortunately, I have new patches this week and here we go again. Before the old one are filled in and I can use that hair for “coverage”, out comes more hair.

I saw the very first ( the VERY first ) regowth start about 6 weeks into treatment (cortisone shots and Clobesteral ointment – I think that is what it is called). My GP stopped my Zocor/Simvastatin and Celebrex this week after I found a link to alopecia for both those drugs. I have newer spots with no regrowth yet, at least not visible to our eyes. My dermatologist seemed to think there was regrowth everywhere (though he looked through a special magnifying scope).

Had my 3rd treatment last week – lots of excitement – lots of regrowth! But I even remarked to the dermatologist that I felt I was losing more hair (when shampooing) and he didn’t seem to think so. The very next day my husband said, “oh oh – you have more bald spots.”

So here I go again.

This disease is so unpredictable and unique for each of us!

It certainly is unpredictable!!!
I have not discovered any new spots. I stop taking Yasmin pill as I was told there was a link between that and hair loss. I went to a dermatologist and he gave all the steriod creams, I used them for a couple of weeks and then stopped, I made a few changes to my lifestyle, eating better and being more active.

I have only been off the 2 drugs for about a week, so way too soon to tell for me. Oddly enough, I made healthy changes to my lifestyle starting in January - eating healthy, losing weight, continuing to walk 30 minutes twice a day (could push that up a bit and do more exercise, but hasn't happened yet!) - and this is when AA makes its appearance, not when I did all the bad-for-me eating and stuff!
