There are indications that the nearly universal economic downturn is going to last much longer and probably get even worse than most economists and other experts will officially proclaim.

Have these abysmal economic conditions altered the way in which you cope with your alopecia?

In other words, do you now find yourself spending less on wigs, make-up, counseling, or perhaps even travel to distant support group meetings?

Or, do you now find yourself trying harder than ever to avoid certain out-of-pocket expenses for treatment of your alopecic condition?

As it relates to living with alopecia, what, if any, changes have you made in response to this recession, which started a few years ago?

On your list of budgetary priorities, is your alopecia of the same importance it was, say, three years ago?

I would have to say that since I do not wear a wig or am undergoing treatment, not much has changed. But, I do have to do a cost/benefit analysis, with a wait and see attitude, about the conference when it is not within driving distance.

Well i usually wear scarfs so ten dollars here and there dont hurt. As far as wigs i get them pretty cheap by a wig shop close to my house. so not all that worried at this very moment and hey if its bad enough i'll go bald and proud :o)

I held off as long as I could with worn-out wigs, but decided to trade my food and bill money for a new wig (see my page) for the new teaching semester. The bank is charging me a fee for the overdraft...now I am in the hole. Sigh.
