Well I’ve done it!!!!!!!

Having experienced the loss of lots of my body hair I was feeling very much the same as I did when my head hair was falling out. As such, I was tempted to use the same course of action that I had used when the hair on my head was coming out – to remove what was let so that I no longer had to see it falling out.

Well yesterday after about 60% of my body hair had gone (I was really hairy) I went to see a friend of mine who has a business removing hair for people. Most of her clients are ladies although she does have a small number of men clients and I went to her because I felt relaxed with her doing the job. I didn’t really like the idea of just anyone doing what was required.

Carol was brilliant. She made me feel totally at ease and was sympathetic to my position. She uses a technique called “sugaring” to remove the hair and it really is effective. She told me that most men are wimps when it comes to hair removal and so I braced myself for an uncomfortable time. In all honesty it was not bad at all. Perhaps it was easier than I imagined because lots of the hair was ready to fall out anyway and so it came out easily. Perhaps it was easy because Carol chatted to me all of the time and distracted me. Some of it was tough though and while I cannot say it was painful, I would not join a queue to have it done.

It took Carol quite a while to complete the task and when she did she applied tea tree oil to my skin to sooth the skin following the experience of having its’ hair pulled out. It felt fantastic. I cannot believe how good it feels to have rid myself of the pain of Alopecia. No more hair in the shower, no more patches on my body, no more looking in the mirror to see how much has gone, just the simple pleasure of feeling so clean and smooth all over.

I still have some eyebrows but they are much thinner than they were and I don’t think that they will last much longer. While I could easily remove my head hair and my body hair, the thought of loosing my eyebrows was too much I have decide to let them go at their own pace. I am still shaving my face but the beard is thinning and is much finer than it was.

I am not sure now which category I am in. I was AA and I suppose that even when it started on my body there were patches so that I would still fallen in with being AA. As I have had what was left of my body hair removed I am not sure if I fall into the AU category now????

Who cares?

Life is good!!!!!
