I can't help it. I just love this amazing support community and the invaluable contributions that so many of you make to it. Not only do I appreciate each and every one of you, but I truly admire you as well. Your compassion, your courage, your resiliency, and your determination inspire me in more ways than I can count or chronicle. I will always be profoundly grateful, not only for what you've made Alopecia World, but even more so for what you're making of yourself. :-)

rj it is people like you and those that are part of this community that make me feel less alone in all of this. You are all a blessing!

Thank you for the amazing encouragement rj! Without this site, I would be lost. This community of people aren't victims, we are strong and resilient and overcoming stigma each day. We learn to embrace our uniqueness through the support of each other and of non-alopecians. Thank you again for all that you and Cheryl have accomplished here at AW.

Dear rj:

Thanks that was very nicely written and well said. I too wish this site and also the support had been here for me way back when. It's so nice to be connected in this way to so many going through similar situations. We have come out of the closet as it were and have found so much more than acceptance....We have found love and support and friendship and isn't that what it's all about.

Thanks,

Cheryl

I am with rj. Alopecia World has become so vital to me for so many reason. I am awed by the beauty I see in the photos and sometimes find it mind-boggling that at first we cannot see it and eventually like myself grow to appreciate the look of real life -- women, men, and children, in all of our individual splendor.

I am humble at the raw honestly of members who are willing to share their pain only to realize that other feel the same and are encouraged to keep going by it.

I am motivated by watching some of those same people slowly sprout a seed of hope and watch them blossom, and even more amazed by watching them turn around and support and encourage the next person.

This is truly a place of hope and for some a place for new beginnings, mine included, starting this project with my then boyfriend rj has given us a bond and a taste of what it is like to work with each other and what it would be like to build a life together.

I may wake up in the morning wonder why me Lord. However, I never wake up in the morning wondering why we continue to do this! One browse through this site and I have over 5,000 reason!

Thank you for filling our lives with joy and purpose.

PS: I love you rj!

Wonderful post rj! And I second all the expressions of gratitude & blessings of those who have already responded!

"Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom." Proust

You & Cheryl have quite the green thumb!! :)

Thank you,
Heather

Thanks Rj, you've created a wonderful site, I never really thought that I needed support for being bald, but I'll tell you one thing, it really feels nice to feel the support from others like myself. Continue on :)

You know how I feel already!
THANK YOU Rj & Cheryl.."Cheers"
I look at the love You, Rj & Cheryl express, sharing openly, proud & not ashamed to hold, hug and kiss eachother fOr all the "WORLD TO SEE"
This gives me hope, that there are men who truely do love & appreciate their woman.
Men who are Proud...to walk hand in hand...side by side!
Speaking on my womans perspective!
I understood Dave's analogy of us being like "CAVE PEOPLE" this happens early on & somehow carried with us if not for months...then for years.
We all have our world interupted & yes....we are now fortunate to have found a place to call home, away from home.
I have met so many wonderful loving & caring people....hi Pamela, Leon, Kimberly, Karen, Pat....& for the rest...over time I'm sure we will get around to one another.
Susan will be on her way, Aimee...Heather & Glenda...Mary & Crown Regal, "Santi"..who hasn't been seen for a while...missed but not forgotten, Oh...& Alexandra, also one of our new fresh faces, Ernesto.....although you all know how you are....if you know me!
Oh even though I mentioned you, "Kimberly"...new...& writing up a storm!
I know the conferences are another way of meeting...yet for some it's not a possibility.
Within time our Networking will pay off...as we become stronger & more involved>>>RIGHT?
So see you guys around....one oneday we all can hopefully give eachtother a much needed welcoming hug!
