Hi Sheena
Thank you for sharing your journal. It was very insightful. One of my family members has Trichotillomania, and I've never understood it. She has had it since she was VERY young, and nobody really talks about it openly. Your testimonial has helped me, and my I share this with her? BTW, I've got alopecia universalis and don't wear wigs anymore unless it is super cold.
Thank you,
Alanna Powell
I am terrified of touching my head because of losing hair. I have diffuse thinning with no known diagnosis. I also have a obsession with the hair that comes out. I hate the feeling of a pulled hair but I also examine my hair when one falls out or accidentally gets pulled out by my comb or sweatshirt. I too love to feel the hair and I run it through my fingers to feel the texture. I also feel good when it's an "ugly" hair but feel defeated when it's a perfectly fine hair that didn't need to come out. It's so strange how I am afraid to even touch my head but still have the same types of obsessions when I examine the hairs. Thank you for sharing.
She actually writes / speaks in almost perfect quality free verse poetic form, and what she says is easily edited to any length.
