I don't know about you, but I love my carbs but maybe they don't love me! Please read this article about what foods we eat and how they can affect us.

No one seems to be able to put a specific food or cause to this condition. You could try this diet and see if it helps. It sounds healthy anyway.
Give up spaghetti ?? Never.

I've been on ketogenic diets in the past (not hair related) and randomly do bursts of no carb weeks and it hasn't made a noticeable change for me (in terms of hair) but who knows…
hi lily, great article! i was glucose intolorant for a while and piled on the weight,i went low carb and my bloods are now like a normal person.......only thing is my hair is still falling out:( my mother on the other hand is diabetic type 2 and has followed low carb very strict and she sais her hair is now a lot thicker.....its worth a try tho eh? x
My alopecia areata was caused by allergies to gluten and dairy. And a whole lot of the carbs that I think you're referring to likely have gluten in them (spaghetti, bread, cake, etc.). (But it looks like you've already tried a gluten-free diet -- your post on 10/6). Anyway, whenever I have gluten or milk/cheese, I notice my scalp and eyebrow itches in the areas where that went bald awhile back and the hair even starts coming out again. Not sure how common this is, but since celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder and so is AA, seems like there's a definite connection.
