I have AU and wear nothing on my head. I have eyebrows tattooed, and body tattoos. But I would love to have a head tattoo, but I am 54 and dont want to commit until I am sure.
Does anybody have tatts on their head? If so I would love to see them and hear what experiances people have. Ten yrs ago I would just had had it done a b.....ks to anybody, but as I have lost a lot of confidence, not only due to Alopecia but other medical conditions, which have affected me.
As with all aolpecians that go without coverings, we get stared at anyway, so will not be new to be stared at.
So lets hear and see your opinions, please.
Just waiting to see Toni Warne on the voice....you go Toni.

That could be painful to have tattoo in head.

I was recently diagnosed with AA, and have thought about the "what if I need to shave my head" and the idea of getting my head tattooed occured to me. My first thought is that it would be painful, but that can come with any tattoo. I still think that getting my head tattooed would be cool, but after reading some of the others replys and hearing the idea of the henna tattoos, I think this sounds like a better option. With henna, you can always change the designs, nothing permanent!

I have one and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

I love tattoos and have several rather large tattoos all over my body and I have my eyebrows tattooed as well, but would never consider a head tattoo. In my opinion my head is beautiful and statement making on its own without assistance, however maybe something small around the ears could work..Also FYI head tattoos blur and fade quicker so if you do it find a good shop and be prepared for it to age fast.

I have head tattoos!! It is much more comfortable going to the gym and beach now and the "cancer" comments have all but stopped.

There are photos on my page. Not sure how to link them here.

I found the tattoos werent too painful. I dont 100% love some choices I made (18 yr olds are idiots haha) but I cant see them so it doesnt bother me. If I could go back id get an angel and a devil talking into each ear :)

I also have tattooed my head (the pics are in my profile if you want to look). I've got some lettering and flowers and slowly add to them over the years (it does hurt a lot). I think it is up to you. For me it made me more confident to go without my hair and again made it look more obvious that I never have hair as opposed to a temporary condition like hair loss from chemo. Try the henna and see if you like the way it looks. Good luck in your decision.

I am a fan of Tattoo's. If it were me, I would have something pretty done, along with on the very, upper back (depending how tall you are) a few short words about being bald due to medical reasons, however I've chosen this beautiful artwork for you to admire while you stare. Hope you enjoy it as much as I! It would take me many days to find the right words I'd use to express that fact....that way they could see the beautiful person you are inside & OUT! Just my .02 cents When you do, post the pics!

i tatted my head over a year ago. a simple outine design that i just love. and plan on expanding it. i found that when i had it done, it hurt alot less than when i use to do scalp injections. feel free to check out my profile pics

I was looking to have a tattoo of a bird on my head, but because its right next to the skull it could be quite painful, depends on how you take the pain :) go for it I say! xx

I have seriously considered getting my head tattooed as well. I even know what I would get. I have AA and have always been able to hide it. I am tired of hiding it. I am ready to shave off all of my hair, I just have to convince my husband that I can handle being bald.
