To all my fellow Alopecians,

I have only one wish on this Christmas Eve. That you love your reflection.

We are special. We are more than hair. Whether you are someone who has never had hair, or someone who has lost it over the years, we are not alone - ever. And we are still here, alive and well and living a wonderful life.

I believe I have been given this gift (challenge) for a reason. It's not what happens, it's what you do with what happens.

Therefore, bring on 2014! Let the bald unite! Feel blessed that you are here, making a difference in the world. Because you touch lives every day - with, or without hair.

What you do is up to you.

Enjoy life, enjoy being you.

Always,

Lynda

Very well said, Merry Christmas to everyone, those with hair and those with less hair.

Hello to all you wonderful people who have helped me to move forward with having Alopecia (which I could not pronounce correctly a few years back) and now I am a pro!!!!  But thank you for being there for all of us no matter what we are feeling.  Whether it is anger, joy, strength, embarrassment, advice and yes the list just goes on and on.  So thank you for all of the postings and all of the sharing.  For many of you that I do not know...I feel I know you all so well.  My heart and my love is always with you.  Thank you for helping me to be able to not go through this alone.  xxoo   Cinder….Peace and Happy Holidays

Very nicely said, Merry Christmas to all.

Knowing it and believing it is hard sometimes.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Some days are better than others. We are more than our hair, but society places so much emphasis on what you look like, the struggle is in defining yourself by more than superficial standards.
:-). I still want the receipt so I can return this gift....but if I have to live with it I am going to try to be he best me I can be in 2014!
Merry Christmas to you all. Yes, there are the bad days... But today is a good day! Love to you all.

Merry Christmas to all.  I am new here, but I already love this site.

Thank you Lynda for reminding me that "we are more than hair".  I want to enjoy the holidays and stop thinking about my little bald head.  I love knowing that I am not alone and reading posts from all of you.  This is a place to find information, encouragement and ways to find acceptance for myself.  I feel better tonight just knowing you are all here.  Thank you!!!!

i love my new found head fashion with scarves, beanies, bandanas, etc. i also save time and money now than when i had to fix my hair and use hair products. my only wish is to learn to do my eyebrows right. hahaha! cheers all!

WOW!!! That was amazing thank you Lynda.

Thank you. Merry Christmas!!

Yes, wishing you all a Happy Christmas and Lynda what you write is so true. I have had alopecia universalis for so many years and long ago I realized that it was a life challenge that was actually a very specific lesson to help me to grow. So I picked myself up from depression and self pity and my life has been an evolving and fantastic journey. In my family and work I have been able to help others - Meditation has given me so much that enables me to live and be happy - and now I rarely think about my hair loss . There is so much suffering in the world in so many forms -and when we put the emphasis on giving then we realize that hair loss is relatively minor compared to other things. It is not easy, I do not minimize it !
So love and especially self love and self acceptance to you all this Christmas - and people will feel this and it will help them too .

Merry Christmas to all the amazing and inspirational people on this site!  You are awesome!
