I am 28 and have been diagnosed with Alopecia Areata back in March this year. I had a single spot that grew back. In August I got another which seems to be growing too... I want to ask community here is there anyone who didnt lose all their hair? Including facial hair..my understanding is tthat its rare for that to happen BUT to be honest it seems most people tend to lose it all.. this is my first post here.

I had a boss several years ago that developed spotty Alopecia and it grew back within a few months.

Thank you. So he didnt end up losing all his hair?

He did not end up losing his hair. So that is a good story.

Maybe not the success story you were looking for...
I, like many, never knew about alopecia areata before it happened to me. I lost all of my hair so fast, which I believe was more of a blessing then if it were to happen any other way. I thought my life was over and couldn't even look at my hairless body in the mirror. Today, I may not be your ephinany of normal, but I am happy and can accept myself. Loving yourself is not something that even a harry-ied bodied person can do, let alone a hairless one. I believe this is a success.
I consider this as success story indeed. I am unfortunately not there yet. But someday maybe i will be. How old were you when you first got diagnosed with areata?
I was 21 and I'm 24 now, it's been roughly 2&1/2 years. I find that after a while of pushing yourself it simply gets easier.
I consider this a success story too

My mom had alopecia with 2 spots in her 20's and they grew back and never reoccured. Im 23 and have had alopecia for a year. I have 2 spots as well and both are growing back! The newer one I found in August has some bald parts still and even the one I found a year ago isnt completely filled in but they are growing!! Both are about an inch and half long. I use hair essentials to speed up the growth which I do believe work. They're like 100 for 3 months which is kind of pricey but if it helps speed up the process I think its worth it. I think most people here have more extensive alopecia and people who have milder cases don't open up about it really. I've been hiding it from most people and its so nice to tell my story here and share with other people going through the same thing. Best wishes!
