I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

I think once your hair has mostly come back on 3 a day, dropping back to 2 should not cause shedding, you may just not exoerience as much new growth. I don't think anyone knows for sure yet what the maintenance dose will be, if there is one. It will probably be different for everyone, and will most likely be trial and error. Just a guess though.
Well said mate I have to agree with you.

UK Quality Operations

Yaa! I'm happy for those that can get it there at a much reduced cost, especially those in the UK and other locations where it's not available at all.

I dont get it ADML. What does this mean?

It means it is a legit product.  As long as it comes from Pfizer, it's good.

Thanks for the results great news !.
Is there any way to get it without actually going to Turkey? I know someone provided a pharmacy phone and fax number, but still not sure how that works.
That would be amazing I hope someone replies to this!

Update: 10 weeks on 2 pills a day with AU.  Still pretty bald all over.  I see all the peach fuzz, but not nearly what I was hoping for and what I have seen happen for others.  Going to stay on until my Patient Assistance runs out in Dec, but not sure I will continue.  Wish I could do Stem Cells!

How long have you been AU? Bcz Adml has been AU for some time and it took him 7 months to start seeing growth, also have you tried taking any other immune suppressants with it ? Mybe you just need a boost ! Stay positive Megn.
medication in the post won't pass through customs.
