I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

580 euros for 60 tablets?

yes  580 per box but each box contains 56 tablets, 10.35 euro per pill

Yep let's keep the chain, how long did it take to get the meds? I'm going to Turkey next month.

one day only

I live in Italy and for me it's easy to fly and fly back to Istanbul in one day. I should be anyway sure that Xeljanz would be available in the pharmacy when I arrive in Istanbul..  I would be very grateful if you can let me know name, adresse and e-mail adresse of a pharmacy in Istanbul.  I can order Xeljanz in advance and buy it directly there.  Do you know if there is a quantity limit? I mean, can I buy 10 boxes without any problem ?

Thank you in advance for Yr reply and I'm sorry for my English.

Raffaella, somebody posted this a while ago in this thread: The pharmacy is located in Istanbul, the address is Alemdar Mh., 34110 Istanbul, the name of the pharmacy is Ayasofya Pharmacy. The cost is around $1770 Turkish lira, which is around $560 euros. It comes in packets of 56 pills. Check first if this info is correct before flying there.

OK. Thank you very much for the info.

I have been on xeljanz for about 7 months now and have experienced complete regrowth.. all of my hair is about 3 inches long. within the past 2 weeks i have been noticing these hairs on my pillow every morning when i wake up which is very discouraging. i am still on 5 mg 3x/day so I'm not sure why this is happening..i have begun to develop a spot on the back of my head. has anyone else had something similar to this happen??

Congrats on your growth! I think the shedding might be due to the hair cycle or mybe stress is playing a factor ? Mybe see your dr and up your dose to stabilise the loss. This is interesting because a few people have experienced loss now. I just hope it's a case of upping your dosage or just the common hair cycle.

dr. who  I bought xeljanz in Turkey at the same price that you bought , I have bought in istanbul in the district of sultanahmet, I waited a day and they speak English, the only problem is that it was always overcrowded, and there isn't privacy

instagram thealopeciaexperiment is going on what is happening to you, even if she had the pills reduced from 2 to 1 per day

I don't think I have any new spots at this time - but similar to you I have had complete regrowth hair is about 2 inches long now. I have noticed in the past week I've been seeing more shedding and thinning especially in one spot. I hope that this isn't the start of something else
