I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

OK, rsrsrs  means a laughing out loud (Lol), but with a lot of less intensity,

Sorry.  rsrsrs  a discret laugh.

Joao, are you sayong that you feel Xeljanz is causing you to gain weight? I was worried about that for awhile too. So I increased my exercise and cut down on my carbs (sugar) intake. Another thing I noticed was that I started sleeping better. Xeljanz also seems to act as an anti-depressant, but that could be because ITS WORKING, lol! The blonde hairs in my resistant spots are filling in and turning dark. Upping my doseage to 3 per day (like Kyle Rhodes did) and adding 10,000 mcg of Biotin last month seems to have done the trick! I'm so happy, happy, happy, happy.

i too encourage you to stay bald. Its far better than having sparse brittle hair, here and there. Bald looks natural to black people.

What's your problem man, seriously? You should seek some counseling.

Have you got alopecia ??
Icarus have you got alopecia?
Thank you Gowml and Singh! Cheryl, co-founder of Alopecia World, is investigating, but in the meantime I appreciate your support. You and some others are my internet heroes, lol! The force is with us. I forgot to add that I'm also happy because I'm planning a trip with two of my new Alopecia World friends from another country in February. We are planning to sightsee in San Francisco, hit up Hollywood and Disneyland, and go to Tijuana, Mexico so they can get some cheaper Xeljanz. Does anyone have a pharmacy to recommend in Tijuana? Also, do my friends just show copies of their Xeljanz prescriptions? Or can they get it over the counter there?
Well... Whatever
Joao, that comment from Gowml about getting counseling wasn't to you, it was to someone else who continues to single me out and harass me. Gowml was standing up for me, and I appreciate it. HAPPY NEW HAIR EVERYONE!!!
Sorry. It was for Icarus.
Can I ask are you married ? Are you in a relationship? Cz i believe it's just as hard as it is for women..
Sure, no problem.
I'm married for more than 10 years, and my alopecia started 7 to 8 years ago.
Normal relationship.
Men are used to get bald. That's why I belive That these changes are less hard to men than for women.
