I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

I went down to Houston about 2 years ago to submit DNA to the national biobank registry at MD Anderson for medical research. Since going there I emailed them about LDN but didn't get an especially interested response from what I recall. I also made an appt with my local dermatologist who is the best in Dallas, but we are certainly not a progressive city when it comes to medicine here, as all he has ever wanted to do is shoot me up with steroids/cortisone. and this is supposed to be the best doc in the city. i have heard from several sources and went to him for years. i wish i knew how to get LDN in Dallas because my friend who is a naturopath in Portland tells me LDN gets used for things like alopecia there.
I submitted my blood and had two holes punched out of the back of my head and sent to Md Anderson through Columbia U and tried to obtain information had the same problem no answers I found out that you're just a number they don't even have you're name attached to you're labs

Hi Kat, on the fb page "got endorphines', there are people from all over the world. There must be someone there that knows a doc in Dallas that works with LDN. Also on the official websites (see above links), they provide a list of pharmacies and perhaps also doctors.

The FB group LDN and alopecia has more details.

Hi Kat,
I live in Dallas too...and it's true doctors here aren't really current on new meds or even open to experimenting with new drugs. My derm here refused to prescribe Xeljanz so I am going to MD Anderson in Houston on Monday for the Alopecia registry. I am hoping Dr. Duvic is willing to help me. Please keep me posted on anything doctors or new treatments you come across in Dallas...I'm new here!
Hi Kat I think it's a wise idea going to Md Anderson maybe they can point you in the right direction. The problem with a dermatolagist perscription is that you're insurance will not cover the cost beings it is a reummatoid aRthritis medication. What is the severity of you're Alopecia and when was you're onset ?
Go see Dr.Ryan at Texas dermatology at Baylor university hospital in Dallas. I am a patient of her's. She will prescribe xeljanz. And they are step to do all the blood work and testing on site.

Hi Texas 2016. I googled Dr Ryan and it seems she has left Dallas. Do you mind sharing who you see now? I am still searching for one in okc or Dallas. Thanks!

in turkey also xelijanz a lot of  cheaper...in what farmacy in turkey i can buy ldn i must go there in some days to buy xelijanz

Yes it's cheaper but you need to afford to continue to take it.
If you run out of money funding xeljanz your hair may fall out again.
This is why I choose to wait.
I orderd ldn from turkey today and will start soon.
I want to give it a try a least it's cheap to fund in the long term.

is it possible buy online? and how many in day you must take?

Got a friend who will post it to me. I take 1 a day for 6 months and see how it goes.
