I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Hi Nicolas. It seems apparent that the creams are still being studied and not ready or approved to be released to the Public. Perhaps a year or two away so let's be happy that there are other options under study's at this time but for now it looks like the pill form of Jak inhibitors seem to be helping many people thanks and good luck

Hi, I also saw this on the alibaba site..and it has more than one company selling it as a powder

Dr. Angela Christiano recently published another paper confirming the success of Xeljanz in one patient that resulted significant regrowth. Some clinical trials are being done in Germany which also are showing promsing results. However, certain people, mainly females, show a relapse while being on Xeljanz, do you think it is a dose-related matter or their alopecia have different pathways? Any ideas?
My Updated::

Hi sultan what was the severity of you're alopecia and how long did you have it. That sounds like positive results I am just finishing 10 weeks with nothing on scalp or body I have facial growth I was hopeing to see scalp hair by now but I guess it will grow when the body gets the signal hopefully I am on 2- 5 mg tablets a day and switching over to the Xelljanz 11 Xr once. A day next week I guess patience is important I tend to start thinking the scalp hair isn't comeing back because my case was strange I had my first episode almost a year ago and it rapidly progressed to A U at 60 years old

How often are you having your bloods checked?

I have R A. That is how I obtained the medicine.my Reummatolagist runs tests every 8 weeks. So far so good with the Bloodwork also before I wS diagnosed with Ra I was seen at Columbia u alopecia specialists dr wiggins who works ong side of dr cristiano assured me that I had no scarring and all my pours appeared active
James you live in NY? What part ?
Born and raised in sheepshead bay Brooklyn Ny but I am currently living at the south Jersey Shore area
Congrats . Inshallah all your hair will grow as you like ..

Congratulations Sultan h! I`m so happy for you.  Keep being patient. Taking Xeljanz in fear will inhibit your growth instead of promoting it.  Positivity is a key factor.

Do you have the link for the paper about this? I am female and I've had a relapse while on xeljanz. Thank you!
