I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Good find Nicholas!

thank you to Williams that helped me to continue this cure whit more quiete, then i read the post of jen i was in panic.

Nicolas, that is what I was talking about. People have been using biologics for years, you can go to rhumatoid forums that u can actually see many people using it for more than 2 years without side effects.

Thank you Williams, i was really in panic then read the post of jen...

No need for panic if I sat here and started putting up warnings about all the common Medicines they might cause panic to. I learned to stay positive and not worry about the research data that people are posting about Xelljanz or any other Meds I have 2 friends who are 25 years I to sucessful kidney transplants and are on dangerousness for rejection but yet they are in the gym every morning and enjoying life . So try focussing on the way you feel and not what other people are posting we are fortunate to have something available that could possibly reverse are alopecia so live for the day not for something 50 years away

Thank you, James .

Is anyone responding to the topical Tofacitinib?  I've been using it for 11 weeks now with nothing to show for it. Has anyone gotten any updates from Dr. King recently about this?

have you the copotition of the cream?

Im at about 14 weeks and no new growth yet. Going to give it 2 more months.I get it from the Pennsylvania pharmacy maybe it's not strong enough? It sure grew all the hair back on the rats quickly.would love to hear how the trials are going.Thank God for this site or we would all be kept in the dark!
Football fan, have you considered 4 pills a day?
Yes I'm thinking of trying it for 3 months and if it doesn't work xeljanz isn't the answer for me.Then I will have to wait for Baricitinib to get approve and hope a Jax 1 2 is the answer.Considering I have some growth everywhere except under my arms I never thought xeljanz wouldn't work for me.
