I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Hi Talia that really awesome
I'm also started in last march 2016 and I upped my dosage to 4pills per a day
Around 5 months from now I have regrowth and my eyelashes became fuzzy
Talia!! How long have you been on 4pills per a day?
And do you have any side affect?!
I so glad to hear from you good news

Sultan
Sultan, at first I kept getting mouth sores. So I started taking colloidal silver. Then the sores stopped after a few weeks. No ther side effects, besides some weight gain, but my diet isn't that great!
Hi Talia I think it is great you have your eyebrows and eyelashes back. At what point of month did you up to 4 a day ? A few people who have had regrowth on here also have taken steroid shots and use rogain and/or minoxidil.

But if you have been on 4 a day for a while maybe try another jak inhabitor ?

Kind regards
Singh, thanks for the advice! I have added Rogaine 5% and then I started getting the fuzzies. The fuzzies are dark hairs, so I guess that's a good sign. I have regrowth in all other areas expect armpits! And who cares about armpits?! I am evening getting my face waxed again...
Hi Talia, congratulations on ur hair regrowth! U never told us how long u have been on 4 pills a day?

I have some pics of me back in November and December of 2016 right when I first started taking Xeljanz.  I am happy to report that almost all of my spots have filled in completely, I've been on Xeljanz 5 mg. twice a day for about 5 months.  During that time I was able to have extensions put in to help hide the spots.  I'm hoping by the end of the year to not have to wear the extensions any more. The first 2 images show some of my patches and the 2nd picture is recent (with hair extensions - and growth of most of the patches).

Unfortunately I do not have the money for Xinjiang, but I want to order a tofacitinib cream (https://mydeox.com/), did anyone achieve a good effect using a cream?

Thank you for any information!

I am looking for the same information please share if it comes to you.

Sorry LudmilaM and Jane. Last year we all got excited about the Topical Xeljanz cream, but no one on this forum that used it reported success.

I was wondering the same thing about Tacrolimus Ointment 0.1% . I'm curious , how much does janz cost ?
