Wow I see Someone having AU as long as me! I haven't had any regrowth though! And yes I miss the eyebrows and lashes most!

I was thinking of getting permanent tattoo eyebrows and eye liner. My biggest fear (if it's a fear at all) is spontaneous remission. I'm going to be 52 in November and have had AU for over 30 years. Getting sprouts of hair on eyebrows, eyelashes, my head and pubic hair. I love the depth eyelashes give the eyes but it is a pita at first to apply. You get used to it with time

Hi y'all, so glad to hear I am not the only one applying lashes daily! I have been using lashes for 15 plus years. Only takes a few seconds to apply now! I use a black eyeliner as well! I see on another comment about not looking so "blank" good word to express how I feel as well! Glad someone else gets it!! I have tattooed brows for 3 years now! Love them! Getting a little faded now! Time for touch up!

Hi, I started with AA at 27, progressed to AU at 46.  I am 52 now.  I agree, Morgan - top annoyances are nose running, stuff getting in your eyes, and cold!  I have quite a selection of hats!  Sometimes I wear the kind that come down over my ears for extra warmth.  I miss the eyelashes the most though.

Hello, My name is Bren I am 50 years old and have had AU for 26 years. I am married 28 years now and I have two wonderful sons, two beautiful granddaughters and one on the way. I see from Morgan's comment he has the same issues in some ways that I do. The constant feeling cold, and the runny nose and eyes. I must say though I love that I don't have to shave anything anymore. One perk! My husband thinks I'm so sexy too so that is definately a huge perk! Hope you all find the love of your life like I did. He stuck with me through the hardest time of my life. We were only married two years when I lost all my hair. We had two little boys at the time too! So many changes at a young age. My husband was only 22 when all this happened. Glad to have others with AU to share my stories. Have a great day everyone!

Hey there, My name is Morgan and I am a 35 year-old gay man. I have been dealing with AU for about two years now. Started with a small patch on my beard then progressed quickly to become a man with no head hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, body hair, or even nose hairs. I have say it, some days it really is crappy. Nose can run alot, or be clogged up in your sinuses -- just annoying. And not to mention how cold you can get without hair. Brrr. Having no eyebrows is interesting but I miss my lashes. Good thing I wear glasses-- all the stuff that can get in the eyes can be annoying too. I've been using a hydrocortisone 0.05% cream on my face and head recently, some hairs coming back on my beard-- a little fuzz on my head, nothing to cheer too much about though. It's an interesting time for me now, since the dermo and doctors are at a loss for words. Hope everyone is good today and if anyone feels the same way as I do. I'm single just reaching out- thanks

Thanks

Sharon, those eyebrow pencils sound interesting.  Do you know the brand name?

Mastering eyelashes gets much easier and accurate with a magnifying mirror. It takes me no longer to put on lashes than it did when I was using mascara. Everything goes on first try. I also put glue on the lash line let it dry slightly and eyelash slides into place. Also I buy eyebrow pencils that aqua dancers use and it stays on all day.

I hear you Kathleen.  I don't have the time or the patience to master the putting on the eyelashes.  I found that eyeliner works well and is much quicker.  It doesn't make the eyes look so "blank."
