My name is Cassandra I have had alopecia aretea for about 9 months and I have two bald patches that are not noticeable, but I have been noticing for a while the hair on the frontal hairline is disappearing progressively. It started at my widows peek and it's seems like my hair just keeping disappearing more and more going inwards toward my scalp. I have put a picture for reference.. I know it's not very noticeable, but is this the way frontal fibrosing alopecia starts or how it looked when you first noticed it? I would really appreciate any ones responses thanks.. Btw my hairloss at my hairline is nothing like my alopecia aretea bald spots, my alopecia aretea forms much more rapidly and in circular patches

Hi Cassrose! Sorry to hear you are dealing with hair issues too. One thing most FFA people have in common is redness and scaliness at the follicle. Do you see that at your hairline? I'd definitely ask your doctor and monitor your hairline edges for any changes.
/Cassandra, just be sure to have your dermatologist take a plug for biopsy. That's the only way to be certain. The thinning at your frontal parting looks like mine did a couple years ago. But your lovely thick eyebrows and gorgeous eyelashes are probably the envy of many of us here!
