Hi all,

I'm looking for advice from all your freedom wearer's...I have one and I got it last September. I know you need to send it in for repairs every year to a year and a half. I'm contemplating buying a second one so I will have one when my current piece is being repaired but I hestitate because it is only a month I will be without while waiting for mine to be returned from repair or so and purchasing another one is a lot of money. Can you tell me what you all do when you send yours in? Should I buy a less expensive piece to wear for the month?

Also, my husband and I are contemplating trying to get pregnant in the next 6-8 months and this will be our first. I have heard you can gain weight, etc and I would hate to have two pieces that don't fit right if I order a second..

Anyways, we have to decide in the next couple of days how much to put into our flex spending for the next year so I pretty much have to decide soon if I want to purchase another freedom wig next year or just a temporary...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. As I have found on other topics on this site, I must not be the only one going through this same scenario...thanks much.

HI Deb,
I've been wearing vacuum wigs for over 25 yrs. & absolutely love the Freedom Hair one the best (after wearing others also)! The newest version is now much thinner, lighter & cooler than before. I've never had any discomfort with the Freedom Hair wigs. You'll love meeting Debi Fuller - she's great. Good luck.

I have an appt with Deb Fuller next month and am considering shaving my head in order to get this wig. I have heard nothing but great things about these wigs and all photos of them look beautiful!! Has anyone ever had any discomfort wearing them? I haven't heard that at all, but I'm trying to get all the info I can before I go and shave my head..

Well, I'm going to do my research starting now.....go into salons, talk to stylists, etc., and hopefully by the time it arrives, I'll have picked the right stylist to cut it. I'm not going to rush into it, that's for sure! Also, Debbi mentioned sending out a 'hints to stylists' sheet to give the stylist before they even pick up scissors.

I am just so terrified of getting the thing and then having it cut into what I think is going to be a cute short funky razor cut style and then finding out the hair just hangs straight or funny. Then I end up throwing it in the closet and never wearing it. that is my biggest fear. Like I said most of the vacuum wigs I have seen have been long. It is hard to mess up with long hair. Short cuts are a whole different ball game.

Then there is the whole trying to find a decent hairdresser too who knows how to cut the thing.....Soooooo many things to consider!

Hi everyone, I have a Lace Front Wig from Peggy Knight Solutions and I love it....Kendra that works with Peggy cut my hair and she did a wonderful job. I also have a Vacuum on the way I'll get it in Nov. I'll let you know how it is.
Take care
Jenn

So - I met with Debbi on Tuesday night and started the process. Does anyone know a really good hairdresser in Ottawa I could go to when the time comes, please?

Point taken Rose :)
From what I was told, Remi hair can only be dyed darker, but not lightened.

Lori,
You will love it!! I have been wearing wigs pratically all my life and nothing compares to a vacuum wig. The true custom fit, the quality hair, the natural look. It's great!

Can't wait to meet Julia too in person! Wow my first meeting with another Alopecian! That is exciting!
