My daughters first hairpiece was remy hair after a summers wear it faded terribly and there wasn't much we could do with it..............She is about a year into her first freedom hairpiece. It also faded as all hairpieces do, however the difference is because this piece is 100% virgin hair we have had it coloured and are about to get it coloured again in the next holidays. Nicole wore her hairpiece while it was getting done and it was fine the only time there was a prob was when she was getting the colour rinsed as it did slip. As for getting it cut I can totally understand your anx as it is a heck of alot of money you are talking about and if something goes wrong .........well ...........so much depends on it not going wrong! We went to a hairdresser that the dealer recommended and she is fabulous, this time we will be getting the ends trimmed as they were starting to split last time. Nicole is coming up 13 and her hair looks totally natural it isn't thick......when you order your hair piece you can stipulate how thick you want it.

Anyway good luck with your choices I know how huge a decision this is and you want it to be as perfect as it can be. Take care Sharon

That is my biggest fear too. I wasted $2500 on a human hair wig. The stylist cut one to many times and I didn't notice it until I got it home. I hate the thing....I never wore it. I am also worried that once it is cut like the wig I am wearing it will hang limp or straight which I also don't want. I also don't want anything thick because my own natural hair isn't that thick. There are so many things that this wig HAS to do before I will drop $5000 on it.....That is a lot of money to throw down the drain.

This is probably a stupid question, but can you have the hair styled etc. while you are wearing a Freedom wig? By that I mean, actually have it washed, cut etc. just as if it was your own hair? And has anyone had a bad cut with one? That is my biggest fear......................

Rose,
Now that I think about it, I think you're right about the processed hair fading more than unprocessed hair. I might have misunderstood what the rep said about why they slightly strip the cuticle. I'll have to ask her agian. I absolutely trust her though. I am confident that she wouldn't want to sell something that wasn't top quality. She herself has alopecia, and so does the owner of the company(who is very picky!) I am confident in their judgement. I'll let you know how it compares when I get it in :)

Hi! I just put in an order for my new vacuum yesterday. I saw a sample of the hair, and I really couldn't tell the difference between the european and remi hair. The company I order from is having a special right now on the vacuum because it's a new company. Any length, up to 14", is 2500.00 right now. I should be getting it in in 10 weeks. I'll let you know what I think of it. I have to say though, that I LOVE my original vacuum wig! (from Freedom). However, they are no longer doing it in 14". The longest they go now is 12".
I know this group page is for anyone who has a Freedom wig, and I apologize if anyone feels that I'm out of line by discussing another company. But I think it's important for us to talk about other potential 'good' vacuums. The more we know and learn, the better off we are at making an educated purchase. I'll keep you all updated :)

I'm going to meet Debbi Fuller on Tuesday evening - am going to order a Freedom wig - very excited about it. Like Lori, I'm a little scared about the cutting part.................... any advice from anyone who has one?

Whoops forgot to mention I did see Debbi Fuller last January and am going to pop in and see her this Tuesday in Ottawa. Just wondering if anyone actually has got one cut like mine. I would hate to buy one and get it cut and it looks horrible....

Hey all,

I don't have one yet but when I get the guts to shave my head I would like to get one... Any idea if it can be cut to look like the wig I am wearing. I look horrid in long hair and love the wig I have now. It is layered and funky.... I see most of the wigs people are wearing are long.... Anyone out there have a freedom wig cut in a shag like mine?

Nancy, your hair looks great!! I would NEVER know it was not your own! Seriously!!
I have an appointment with a Peggy Knight rep this Saturday to put in a new order for a vacuum. Have any of you heard about another vacuum wig company out of Florida? They use Remi-European hair. Basically, it's the same as the Freedom wig, but slightly processes to preserve color better. I was told that only about 5% of the cuticle is stripped. It's also a lot cheaper. I'll let you guys know how my consult went. I'm going to see a sample of the remi hair.

Hi everyone,
Am interested to know if anyone has experience with a shorter style on their Freedom wig. I used to have a sort of short, pixie cut (that is, when I had my own hair) and am wondering whether it would work with the wig or not.
