i've never really thought about this before but reading other girls blogs on here got me thinking about the time i got alopecia i was 14 and i left school at 16 and spiralled into depression until about 18-19

i find it fascinating that there are so many alopecians that are twins. I am an identical twin and for so long i thought that there was very few twins that had alopecia. now i read there are heaps of you! and some even loose their hair at the same time!

a while back, i went to a genetics doctor, cant remember what they call them.

i wanted to know more about alopecia and my dna.

i guess you could say i'm a special case, i have an identical twin sister who doesnt have alopecia.

she is also really scared about getting it! i am scared she will get it, one,because she isnt as strong as me.

so i'm 23 now about to turn 24 in november. i was 12 when i lost my eyebrows, i didnt really think anything of it since i have fair hair and skin it wasnt that noticable. at 14 i got my first patch, small. i went to a dermatologist but i already knew i had alopecia before he said a word. he said i should go on cortisone, 3 months later was almost bald with only hair at the top and bottom of my head.
