This is kinda crazy but I am so against wearing a wig. However I was wondering if I could use the seamless hair extensions all over my head to make it more realistic and would stay on for a month or so? Has anyone heard of it or tried it? Its just an idea but if I could do it I would. My mom is a hairdresser so i think she could get them for dirt cheap if not free.

Hello everyone I need help. You see I work in retail and I have had many people come up and ask me why I don't have hair and I have had to many just asume that I have cancer. And I just wanted to know if there is anywhere I can get a button or ribbon that represents Alopecia to show that I don't have cancer. Thank you.

There is so much support out there for Alopecia. I had no idea and I just want to scream it from my house-top. I felt so lost (still do for the most part) but I feel there is hope. Life will go on whether my hair chooses to join in or not. I think I may even be able to go back to church and not fear for the person sitting behind me to look at the back of my balding head. (Of course I will have my "fabulous, perfect hair on).....I think I can do this....maybe :/

Hello!
Here is my alopecia story...
My hair started falling out in April... at first I thought it was from stress ( my dad had a stroke) but, we now found out it is alopecia. It is now September and my hair is still falling out. I got my first steriod injections 2 1/2 weeks ago and I am rubbing a liguid perscription on my spots at least twice a day. I am in my senior year of high school and this is really upsetting me. How long until I can expect some progress? In some…

I've now lost around 80% of my eyebrows. Joy.
I've been augmenting them - because they've been really pale and thin for a while - with a brown eye-liner pencil and it's been working well, but till now i've had enough hair to use as a shape guide for drawing on the brows.
I've heard about stensils and stuff, but I don't really understand how they work or where to get them. Can anyone help?? I know there are a few blogs and discussions up like this but am having trouble finding them :P

Students in their final year of high school in Australia sit the HSC. Drama students are required to present an individual project In my case, a performance.
I've never really publicly dealt with my alopecia and am in the process of designing a dramatic piece to deal about my own feelings and what it is to be an alopecian.
As part of this, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to tell me their alopecia story, or a story from their life relating to their alopecia. I wish to…

Just in case you missed it on the news, the city of Nashville, TN was devastated by the flooding of the Cumberland River this past weekend. While my family and I were fortunate to have remained dry and safe, there are countless people here who have had their lives and livelihoods destroyed by the waters. Just to put it in the proper perspective, the Cumberland River -- as it flows through Nashville -- is considered to be at flood stage at 40 ft. As of yesterday, the river crested at 52 feet and…

Hi my name is Tasha im 24 year old mother of two. my eldest daughter Sierra5 have alopecia areata. I am looking to create a newletter to be sent some with all the children in her school. instead of putting a picture of an actual person with alopecia or a picture of her, I thought it would be nice to have an animated drawing of some children playing happily. I think it will catch more eyes and interest to create better awareness. Unfortanatly i stuggle with stick figures. Drawing doesnt come…

Gosh, sometimes I get so sick of wigs, I live in a really small town, it's pretty obvious I wear a wig.
It's even worse when the "children" here think its funny to pull it off in public *twitch*.
I'm sixteen, I know it sounds immature but I really dislike people who make fun.
Tease, pull and jerk off my wig, call me baldy etc.
And decent wigs are so expensive...
I looked into a vacuum wig that wouldn't come off when someone pulled it.
4100$,
good…

I'm struggling with Trichotillomania,
I don't mind wearing wigs, i'm used to it... but I'm so tired of having to shave my head.
I'm still a teenager, and people are very cruel about these things, Ripping off my wigs in public... I'm not ashamed that I'm bald, but I often find myself lying about my actual condition out of fear that they will think i'm crazy for pulling my own hair out...
I'm starting to feel that way myself, It's gotten so bad, I had to shave my head again…

Sorry, I'm a compulsive blogger! But I really really would appreciate some advice now more than ever. I'm starting to get this sinking, scared feeling in my gut as my 2nd derm appointment this Friday is fast approaching. When I went the 1st time 3 weeks ago, I had 4 spots, which wasn't bad. But now I have 14! Should I let the doctor inject all 14 spots? I hate hate hate the dents/divots that formed in my scalp from the 1st set of injections. They're still there and I hate how it feels! I can't…
