Vacuum Wig Question! Please read and respond!

Hi everybody!

Just like a mother would prepare for her new born baby, I am preparing for a potentially bald future. I know that I would definitely want a vacuum wig, but I'm not sure who I would want to buy one from, should that day ever come. I'm deciding between Freedom Wigs (or Fuller Hair), New Hair Technology, and Peggy Knight. If you have any experiences - good AND bad - with any of these companies, PLEASE let me know! Meeting new people

well i'll be the first one to admit that when it comes to meeting new people, i am horrible. well i met this girl online and then i met her in person the other day, and today was the second time we hung out, and she is amazing, and i got to meet some of her friends who act crazy fun. its nice to be around people who are not always about there image. having alopecia i have always been the one with the shyness about my hair "the little that i do have" and tonight i got to break free from the mold… Continue

Hopeful update...new growth!

Well i hope I'm not speaking too soon, but I wanted to give an update to all my friends and new-comers that may be cruising through Alopecia World in search of some positive results, news, episodes... I started losing my hair in January 2008. By May most of it had fallen out (about 95%), however before I lost it all (as you can see from my pics) I had some regrowth. I am 24 years old and was just diagnosed with AA. I knew someone in high school that had AA totalis but other than that, didn't really know much about it AA. My new freedom hair



This is one of the first photos of my new freedom wig. It's going to take a bit of getting used to but it's very like what my hair used to be, especially the colour. The hair feels absolutely lovely :)



I've got to have some more practice styling it though, when I washed it for the first time it dried a bit fuzzy so I had to straighten it (very like my own hair, actually!). It's also taking a bit of time for me to learn how to put it… Continue
