Yesterday marked 6 months since we started Alopecia World and although we had a vision for it, I never knew it would be SO amazing.

I look at the photos, videos, advice giving and it is unbelievable how much all of you have inputted and shared your lives with Alopecia World.

I watch adults showing their spots or lack of eyebrows, all to which the outside world they may hide. I watch women happily upload photos of them with a new wig, eyebrow tattoos or post their first photo ever taken without a wig and then I watch each and everyone of us encourage, love and respect each other.

I hear of parents that can finally “show” their kids other kids that look like them. I watch teenager start to come alive again and chatting back and forth without worrying that someone is going to make a mean comment.

Most of all I watch lives change, opinions form and lessons learned. I watch us forget about our “spots” for a while and concentrate on one another. Even though you originally joined Alopecia World for support, before we knew it you were reaching out.

And this is only in 6 months! Throughout the future of Alopecia World, I hope to see people marry, find a mate, have children, get promotions, graduate, “come out”, as well as cry, get angry take a stand or breakdown, because after finally becoming ok with losing their hair, they know have deal with losing their eyebrows, eyelashes or for some, scarring alopecia. But all in all as we struggle or celebrate we have someplace to go.

I am awestruck at the beauty on Alopecia World, not just physical but soul beauty as well.

So to all of the 1500 registered members and other 6,000 people, who are not registered members but visit Alopecia World every month. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

And to my fiance rj, the man who has not only put his technical and writing skills into Alopecia World, but also his time, heart and soul. I love you babe!

Hugs and kisses to you all!

Cheryl and RJ, thank you soooo much for this site, I've met wonderful people, given and gotten great advice, shared, cried, laughed and lived my Alopecian Journey here...Even though I've always shared with family and friends, it feels great to share with those who know what it feels like to experience Alopecia. Again, thanks, hugs, kisses...

What's a blog post without me commenting upon it somewhere??? In the midst of life's everyday joys, pressures, and sorrows, I managed to find this oasis called Alopecia World, and I jumped into it feet first determined to make an impact! In our community, I have found for the first time in 26 years that there are people who are just like me, spots, eyebrows (or lack thereof) and all, and I have found more healing and peace here in 6 months than I have in 26 years combined. You and RJ have done so much for so many of us here that mere words cannot begin to express my gratitude. Thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!

Cheryl & RJ,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I can't believe it has only been 6 months.
Being part of this world is so amazing.
I just wish Alopecia World was here in the first 6 months of this journey.

Cheryl & RJ, I remember telling you in Louisville how before meeting you and others at the confrence that I wasnt really sure if alopecia was real. I really thought that someone was playing a joke on me.
Meeting you and being a part of this world has been a life altering experience.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for making it real.

Jeff

PS Forgive my tardiness on replying. I just wanted it to be special.
