Many have asked me this question and I have for a long time said that I no longer needed or wanted hair. For me, nothing in my life would change if I grew it back. I was once told that they didn't really believe me and that if there was a drug to grow it back I would be there. Well, there is now a drug that many are trying and some with success. My answer remains the same. I am good.

I am still a work in progress on this question and trying to find my routine with both wearing wigs and still dealing with bio hair:scalp issues. So….I’m undecided but don’t think my bio hair can regrow to a manageable routine for me either.

I cannot get to that point. I hate this hideous disease and I am tired of doctors asking, "Can't you just live with it?" I suffer from multiple autoimmune issues (Psoriasis, Arthritis, Asthma) and keep getting the same question for all of them. I imagine that may have something to do with my refusal to just accept it. I am also tired of people asking what kind of cancer I have or why I chose to do this to myself. The worst was when someone approached me at a Pet Expo asking if they could help me return to the group of Special Needs folks that were visiting the show.
It has been 17 years and I want my hair back, no matter the cost.
I know that genetics plays a huge role in my situation, since AA runs in my mom's family, but I am the only one that has been damned with AU.

After a year I got used to having no hair. I have medical issues that do not allow me to take JAK inhibitors. My hair started to grow back on its own but very patchy and none on the sides. For me, I am good the way I am but I would be better if I did not have to shave every couple of days.

I'm still dealing with this and everyday I see new babyhairs growing edges . I have had medical tattoo both on my crown and frontal forehead to camouflage some patches.  I've also done this for my eyebrows which use to be thick and dark. For me it's before I was diagnosed with alopecia and after the diagnosis.  Only close family not even close friends know I have this condition.
