Not my video. This is a youtube video by the channel buzzfeed. I thought it was relevant to what a lot of you may have experienced and thought I'd share in case you haven't already seen it.

Thank you for sharing.  When I shaved my hair I also felt better about my Alopecia.  I also stopped the shots.  Love my new hair by Follea and Jon Renua.  I hope you enjoy wearing beautiful hair!!

It reminds me of when I got to that point myself the first time w alopecia. Shaving my head was scary and amazing all at the same time. I wont forget it incase I have to do it again.
Thank you for posting and your in my thoughts,
Blessings to you,
Kat

You made me smile! A strong, beautiful young woman taking control. I have a different type of alopecia (frontal fibrosing) and am old enough to be your grandmother, but I know exactly what it feels like to be constantly aware of your hair, or lack of it. For years I struggled to disguise the bald 'bits' with my otherwise thick hair, but eventually had enough. I am too old to shave it all off - you look fabulous, but a bald 65 year old looks either ill or like an old crone! And my type of alopecia affects the front and sides mostly, so the hair at the back is perfectly okay, so a wig really isn't the answer.

So, two weeks ago, I went to the Lucinda Ellory clinic and was fitted with an Intralace system, which is a sort of fine webbing that goes across the bald bits to which they add hair. And now I have me back again! it's astonishing. No one knows it isn't real and it matches my own hair perfectly. I love it. But going there and seeing so many other women in a far worse position than my own made me really accept that losing my hair is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of or embarassed about: it is just bad luck and an immune system that goes bonkers!

So you go for it girl. Whatever solution is right for you is great, and if you feel comfortable about showing the world your bald head, do it .... you look great! x Denise (in England)

thank you for sharing this.  You have given me hope that no hair doesn't have to equal no happiness.  God Bless.

That video was awesome. I went through the same process of, "NO MORE CORTIZONE SHOTS IN THE HEAD AND EYEBROWS!!!" And basically said f*ck it. Mind you I will acknowledge that it must be 100x more difficult for a girl than a guy. As a guy I cannot imagine for a girl to lose her hair. Thus seeing video was just too awesome. Godspeed, and do whatever the hell you want to do (in life).

PS. With shaved head, you're still a looker.

Glad this video was helpful. I just want to emphasize that this is not my video, this is a buzzfeed video I found on youtube and I really liked it, so I thought I'd share.

Wow...an inspiring video.  I have FFA and have lost my eyebrows and the hair around my temples.  I don't think I could ever be as brave as the young lady in the video.
