I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

When my daughter first started Xeljanz she got a sore throat and flu symptoms and then they went away. She shared this with her doctor and he said if she got worse to notify him, it did not. All good. I would say just stay loyal to your doctors appointments and blood draws and hopefully you will be one of the many that have no side effects. Do not stress at this point.

Very Impressed. Please keep us posted with your pictures.

Hello folks! I am planning a trip to Turkey to purchase xeljanz. I must have missed it but does anyone know where in Turkey exactly I can find it? Is there a specific city and pharmacy I should look for? I hope you can help me
TURKEY INFO: It's on page 136 of this thread. You can go there directly by entering page # on bottom right side of any page and then pressing "Go". The reply is by lu391 on November 24, 2015. She lists the name and address of the pharmacy in INSTANBUL. I think she has even posted a couple of pictures. For those going, please be extra careful in this dangerous, political climate and I hope you return home safe. Everyone, please make a note of this info on Turkey, so you can help other "newbies" in the future. Thanks
Dwhite, how did your doctor's appointment at my dermatology clinic at UCSF go? Did you get to meet Dr. North? He's a sweetheart.
Thank you much appreciated!
Ur welcome. When are u leaving?
If all goes well in almost a month.

Someone here mentioned Marmaris in Turkey as being a destination to pick up xeljanz. I can confirm it as being safe. I was there on holiday 2 years ago and its like a holiday resort anywhere else on the European continent. It was very safe and tourists are looked after very well as tourism is their number one industry, You can get some very good one week holiday packages from the UK etc including flights and hotel.Good luck with the venture.
