I have received a lot of interest from others on here in my involvement with the Xeljanz trials at Yale.

I thought it would be nice for everyone if I documented my progress on here.

Xeljanz is a Jak3 inhibitor and is believed to work with alopecia by turning off the distress signal relayed by the hair follicle to the attacking immune system which is the cause of the hairs falling out. Xeljanz comes in a strength of 5mg per pill and a full box contains 60 tablets. The recommended dosage for arthritis is 1 tablet in the morning and another in the evening each day.

The trial is set in a series of stages and there are requirements before participating. These include monthly visits and blood tests every 2 weeks. Dr Brett King is absolutely fantastic and is an inspiration to me. His positivity and enthusiasm gives me the much needed hope I have craved for over a decade. I have been put on a low dose to start with which is 1 tablet every other day. My dosage has now been increased to 1 tablet every day and next month it could be increased to 2 tablets per day depending on the results.

I have completed my first month and have already noticed my alopecia has stabilised . I have not lost any existing hairs. In addition to this I have seen little hairs growing in my chest area as well as eyebrows. Fingers crossed! To date, I have experienced no side effects.

Systemic steroid shots, inter dermal steroid shots, methotrexate, and squaric acid treatments.

That's great! I'm on my second week but nothing yet. I have had a lot of hair loss while on it. I'm hoping it stops soon. I think my body has to get used the medication. I have been on prednisone for 2 years. Let us know your progress. Good Luck!!

Yeah, that's why the fda approves viagra, but not something useful like Xeljanz. Because they're trying to "protect us". I submitted my dna to the biobank a year and a half ago. They said the fda has known Xeljanz could work for ten years. It's all money and bueracracy.
Hi everyone I want to share with you my quest to find xeljanz for the cheapest price. First stop Rite Aid handed over half a dozen coupons and GoodRx was the cheapest for 2125$.Next I went to Target GoodRx the cheapest at 2103$ but couldn't even get the drug for weeks.Last Costco GoodRx also the cheapest 2068$ so I ordered from there and pick it up tomorrow (ouch). Hope it starts working fast has anyone not responded to the drug after 3 months?i will give it 6 months if I don't see any results I will have to stop. Someone said taking Prilosec helps but didn't explain how to take it with xeljanz.

Wal-Mart in my area is the cheapest at $1780.00.

Wow that's a good price. And are you using any discount coupons?

I'm sorry, I had a typo.... the price is $1980 NOT $1780. That was cash price without coupons.

hi kimberj! loving your results! could you tell us the exact wal-mart please? and are you or are going to go on a maintenance dose?

Some more exposure.

Popular TV show has one of the cast going through a rather aggressive form of alopecia. Matt Busbice is the guy's name and he is on Country Buck. It aired last night from what I understand.

Went in Walmart in Los Angeles 2,100$ was the cheaper price trying every coupon (GoodRx still the best price)
Hi going on week 12 and not one new hair in fact the hair I have left is still falling out.Upping the dosage is out of the question (money) would taking the prednisone once a month for 3 months help?Trying to stay positive but losing hope.

hi,

In my opinion , it may be necessary to biopsy the scalp to see if there is still s hair follicles " dormant "
